Abstract:

In general terms, embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and apparatuses for tracking payments and debts associated with a bankruptcy debtor. For example, some embodiments of the present invention are configured to: (a) receive information associated with one or more payments, where the one or more payments are associated with a debtor; (b) determine that a first portion of the one or more payments applies to pre-petition debt associated with the debtor; (c) determine that a second portion of the one or more payments applies to post-petition debt associated with the debtor; and (d) post, to a network-accessible account associated with the debtor, information that indicates that the first portion applies to the pre-petition debt and information that indicates that the second portion applies to the post-petition debt.
