Abstract:
Traction fluids suitable for operations under widely varying temperature environments, particularly having excellent low temperature properties are described. The tractions fluids comprise blends of organic oils and siloxane compositions. The siloxane compositions may include MTQ, MT, MQ, MDT, MDM, or D units in varying molar percents.

Siloxane compositions are useful as traction fluids in traction drive systems which are subject to varied operating temperature and pressure conditions. Specific siloxane compositions included contain units of formulae (I) (R SiO )(RSiO )(SiO ), (II) (R SiO )(RSiO ), (III) (R SiO )(SiO ), (IV) (R SiO )(R SiO )(RSiO ), (V) (R SiO )(R SiO ), and (VI) (R SiO ) in varying mole percents, where a is an integer ranging from 3 to 20 and each R is independently selected from alkyl groups comprising 1 to 18 carbon atoms and aryl groups comprising 6 to 18 carbon atoms.
A silicone composition having a continuous phase of a polar organic liquid including particles of a silicone active material encapsulated within an organic encapsulating material which is a solid at 25Â C. The silicone active material is sparingly soluble in the polar organic liquid at 25Â C. , but is substantially dissolved in the polar organic liquid at temperatures of from 40 to 100Â C. The three phase contact angle between the organic encapsulating material, the silicone antifoam, and the polar organic liquid is below 130Â C. , with the angle measured through the silicone.

Abstract:
A coating composition, particularly a clearcoat composition, which may be a two-component clearcoat composition, comprises a film-forming material, a crosslinking agent, and a nonlinear polysiloxane polymer having a functional group reactive with the crosslinking agent. The coating composition exhibits excellent scratch resistance and adhesion of repair coating layers and sealants, such as windshield sealants.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a dispersible silicone composition comprising a blend of (I) a silicone composition prepared by reacting (i) a polyorganosiloxane, (ii) a silicon compound, and (iii) a catalytic amount of a compound for promoting the reaction of the other components and (II) a polyisobutylene compound. The polyisobutylene oligomer or polyisobutylene polymer is effective as a dispersing agent for the silicone composition (I). The polyisobutylene-containing compositions are easier to handle, produce less waste, and their dispersion into mineral oil formulations is more efficient.

Abstract:
A foam control composition contains a liquid polymer of an unsaturated hydrocarbon, a branched siloxane resin, and a particulate filler which is insoluble in the liquid hydrocarbon polymer. The foam control composition can additionally contain a polysiloxane fluid.
