Abstract:

A slipcover arrangement and method covers a piece of furniture having a seat, a back and at least one arm. The arrangement has a fabric slipcover body for covering the furniture, the slipcover body having a side portion with a hem edge for extending horizontally near a lower end of a side of the furniture when the furniture is covered by the slipcover body and an arm portion for covering the arm. At least part of the arm portion is twisted into an elongated wrap portion for lying flat against the arm of the furniture. A elastic wrap retaining band is connected to the slipcover body for extending over the wrap portion and for pressing the wrap portion against the arm of the furniture. Another elastic band is connected to the slipcover body and extends along the side portion substantially parallel to the hem edge for holding the side portion against the side of the furniture. A cover skirt connected to the slipcover body extends over the elastic wrap retaining band to decoratively cover it.

Abstract:

An exerciser has a hub, a flat strap having one end connected to the hub and adapted to be wound on the hub, a handle connected to an opposite end of the strap for allowing a user to hold the handle to support the hub and a pair of disk-shaped weights connected to opposite sides of the hub. The weights spin in one direction as the hub moves away from the handle and the strap unwinds from the hub, and continue in the same direction as the hub moves toward the handle and the strap winds onto the hub. The weights can each be made of a mounting dish and a plurality of hollow segments each for receiving a pourable material for adding weight to the segments. The segments are engaged to the dish to form a substantially closed disk-shaped weight and knobs are screwed to the hub and over caps for closing the hollow segment for fixing the segments to the dish. The weight can also be used for other exercise devices.

Abstract:

A slipcover arrangement and method for covering a piece of furniture having a seat and a back, includes a fabric, semi-fitted slipcover body for covering the furniture, the slipcover body having a side portion for covering a side of the furniture and a front portion for covering a front of the furniture. The body includes a seat portion connected to the side and front portions for covering the seat of the furniture and a back portion connected to the seat and side portions for covering the back of the furniture and with excess fabric for extending into a crevice between the seat and back of the furniture. The front and side portions are connected to each other with excess fabric for a corner of the furniture between the front and side of the furniture. The excess fabric for the corner of the furniture is twisted into an elongated wrap portion for lying flat against the furniture and a wrap retaining band having opposite ends permanently connected to the slipcover body, extends over the wrap portion for pressing the wrap portion against the furniture.

A stackable, portable chafer assembly comprising a stack of chafter units in which a first lowermost unit has a frame which supports a water pan and the other units of the first unit nest within that pan in compact fashion. Abstract:

An arrangement for covering upholstered furniture includes a semi-fitted cover which is partially fitted to a piece of upholstered furniture and a mechanism for positioning a holding band in a closed loop around the cover. The holding band is positioned to form a loop around the cover and pull the semi-fitted cover close to the upholstered furniture. The present invention also includes details concerning skirt clips, belt adjusting plates and pleating plates which are unique as part of the present invention.
