Abstract:

A stabilization mechanism limits rotational vibration in a module enclosure containing plural objects, such as computer disk drives, that produce rotational vibration about a rotational axis. The mechanism includes stabilizer structure coupled to an outer surface of the module enclosure and constructed to transmit a force toward the object that is effective to stabilize the object in the module enclosure. The stabilization mechanism may be formed as first and second spring-loaded contacts that each apply a constant force to the object.

Abstract:

System for mounting components are provided. A representative system includes a pedestal stand with first and second pedestal base components. Each of the pedestal base components includes an upper mating member, a lower mating member and a support member. Each of the upper mating members are adapted to overlie and mate with a corresponding lower mating member of the other pedestal base component. So adapted, when the respective upper mating members are mated with corresponding lower mating members, the first support member is spaced from the second support member to form a channel therebetween. A chassis can be received within the channel.

Abstract:

A blower apparatus includes a blower housing having at least one airflow channel. A flexible sheet having at least one flap is coupled to the blower housing such that the flap overlaps the channel to form a one-way valve. A plurality of flaps may be positioned over a plurality of channels to form a blower apparatus with a plurality of one-way valves. The flexible sheet may include mounting features such as holes to facilitate assembly. For example, in one embodiment, the flexible sheet is pressed onto a plurality of pegs residing on the blower housing such that the holes receive the pegs. In another embodiment, the flexible sheet is pressed onto a plurality of pegs residing on an exhaust cover that is subsequently attached to the blower housing.

Abstract:

A system for securing a module within a chassis includes a rotatable handle located on the module. The rotatable handle includes a notch and a latch. The chassis includes a cam and guide rail. In embodiments of the invention, the interaction of the notch and the latch on the handle with the cam in the chassis operate to automatically rotate the handle from an open position to a closed position when the module is inserted into the chassis by pushing on a bezel of the module. Embodiments of the invention move the module into a seated position within the chassis when the handle is rotated from an open position to a closed position.

Abstract:

Embodiments of the present invention provide systems, devices and methods for efficiently calculating a true RMS values (either voltage or current) of an AC signal. The RMS value is generated from both high and low frequency components of the AC signal without a high speed ADC being integrated within the system. The high frequency component is processed by calculating an average current waveform of the high frequency component and approximating a corresponding RMS value using a waveform factor. The waveform factor is effectively a scalar that relates the average current waveform of the high frequency component to an appropriate RMS value.
