My name is Keri Chmelik and I've lived in the Austin area for over 7 years. Before calling Austin home, I lived in South Carolina and briefly in North Carolina but grew up in a small town in upstate New York. I'm married to an Austin-ite who is a firefighter with the City of Austin and also owns and operates a building and remodeling company - John Cameron Custom Homes. We've had the privilege of building two of our own custom homes (plus several others for clients) since we've been married so I've seen firsthand the many questions and challenges that come with the homebuilding process. From selecting the lot, drawing the home plans, securing the construction financing, selecting materials, colors, designs etc., I've been involved in each and every step of the home construction process. This background and knowledge helps me to understand not only what makes a beautiful home but also what makes a quality home so that I can assist you in finding houses that exhibit these qualities as well. In addition to the home building experience, I worked in mortgage lending for nearly 10 years and still hold an active loan officers license with Stratus Mortgage, LLC. I began in the real estate world on the finance end of things working for several banks, then in mortgage brokerages where I started as a 'behind the scenes' loan processor and eventually graduating into a mortgage loan officer. In 2005, my husband formed his corporation, John Cameron Custom Homes, Inc which allowed him to develop his love for creating a beautiful home that we are both proud to put his company name on. In 2008 I realized that I had a passion for not only the homes John Cameron Custom Homes built but all homes. They all have a story to tell and memories to be made! After completing all of the necessary schooling, I began my career into the selling aspect of the real estate industry. I've continued with additional education and hold several designations and certifications including ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative), CNE (Certified Negotiation Expert), GREEN (National Assoc of Realtor's Green Designation), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and GRI (Gradutate of the Realtor Institute). When I'm working with buyers, I believe in a low-pressure sales experience.
