Abstract:
A packing assembly for sealing a space between a pump plunger and a pump body of a reciprocating plunger pump with a plunger having a pumping end with an outer perimeter. At least one seal is disposed around the pumping end of the plunger and a securing member having a first end capable of attachment to the pumping end of the plunger. A second end having a flange with an outer perimeter greater than the outer perimeter of the pumping end of the plunger is also provided, such that when the first end of the securing member is attached to the pumping end of the plunger, the second end maintains the at least one seal disposed around the pumping end of the plunger.

Abstract:
A packing assembly, retrofit kit, and check valve with adjustable lift having a ball stop member having opposed first and second contact portions and at least two washers being provided in a stacking configuration. The stacking configuration is one selected from one in which all of the at least two washers are stacked against the first contact portion of the ball stop member, one in which all of the at least two washers are stacked against the second contact portion of the ball stop member, and one in which at least one of the at least two washers is stacked against the first contact portion of the ball stop member and at least one of the at least two washers is stacked against the second contact portion of the ball stop member. Preferably, the at least two washers are of different thicknesses with, more preferably, the thicknesses of the at least two washers being multiples of each other. Most preferably, the at least two washers are a first washer and a second washer with the second washer having a thickness that is twice the thickness of the first washer.

Abstract:
A plunger pump including an airtight bellows surrounding a portion of a drive shaft to protect the drive shaft and associated seals and/or bearings from harmful fluids that are being pumped. No counter-pressure fluid exists inside the bellows, other than air, and the bellows is sufficiently rigid to withstand the pressure of the pumped fluid without collapsing. The interior of the bellows is in fluid communication with the atmosphere, negating the need for a reservoir to accommodate varying quantities of counter-pressure fluid as the pump operates.
A chop-check pump for viscous material having cylinder means defining an axis, a drive rod axially movable within the cylinder means, a primer valve attached at one end of the drive rod and movable with the drive rod, and a floating check valve mechanism associated with the cylinder means at an outlet from the cylinder means through which the drive rod extends into the cylinder means. The primer valve includes a distal valve plate secured to the drive rod and a slidable valve plate on the drive rod slidable between a position against the distal valve plate and a position spaced from the distal valve plate. There are flow passages in both valve plates. Preferably, the flow passages in the slidable valve plate and the distal valve plate have a cross sectional area slightly less than the cross sectional area of the respective plates. In one embodiment, the slidable valve plate has a radial extent greater than that of the distal valve plate. The bottom of the distal valve plate is configured with a sharp leading edge for facilitating movement of the primer valve into the viscous material to be pumped.

Abstract:
A universal swivel body for a fluid handling hose connector has threaded inlet and outlet ends connected by an axial fluid passageway and capable of attachment to a stationary fluid supply line and a rotating fluid service line. The axial fluid passageway has a number of internal circumferential sealing surfaces, each of which is sized and located to provide a fluid tight seal in cooperation with a compliant seal ring and with a corresponding sealing surface on a swivel adapter designed for a particular working pressure. The outlet end of the swivel adapter is capable of rotation with respect to the swivel body so that the device can be used with a hose reel.

Abstract:
A "V" shaped check stop is provided formed of spring steel or the like having a substantially greater depth than thickness to minimize frontal area in the direction of flow and further to provide for added resistance strength in the direction of flow and ease of installation in a circumferential groove on assembly.
