Abstract:

Exemplary systems and methods are provided for digital content promotion. Such methods may include storing an item of digital content received from a rightsholder, receiving data from the rightsholder about the item of digital content, and offering the item of digital content to a second party, such as a blogger or podcaster. A request is received from the second party for the item of digital content and the item of digital content is provided to the second party. Further methods may include reporting to the rightsholder the request received from the second party and the providing of the item of digital content to the second party. Additionally, a purchase link may be provided to the second party for purchase of a related item of digital content. Exemplary systems may include a digital content storage component configured to store an item of digital content received from a rightsholder, a rightsholder data component configured to receive data from the rightsholder about the item of digital content, and a presentation engine which is configured to offer the item of digital content to a second party. A transmission module coupled to the presentation engine receives a request from the second party for the item of digital content and provides the item of digital content to the second party. Further systems may include a reporting module configured to report to the rightsholder the request received from the second party.

Abstract:

Methods, systems, and apparatus for streaming images to a media device. In one aspect, a method includes receiving from a server an image listing comprising a database identifying one or more images stored on the server; presenting to a user a menu of albums, each album having one or more associated images, based on the image listing; receiving input from the user selecting an album from the menu of albums; transmitting to the server one or more image requests, wherein each image request corresponds to an image associated with the selected album; and generating output to a display device representing an image associated with the selected album based on image data received from the server in response to the image requests. Further, an audio clip associated with the selected album can be identified and one or more audio requests corresponding to the audio clip can be transmitted to the server.

Abstract:

The present invention, generally speaking, provides a powerful yet easy to use electronic publishing tool for information providers and online service operators. The electronic publishing tool allows information providers to manage the content they provide to online services. It also reduces the effort required by operations staff of online services to support a growing number of information providers. Finally, the electronic publishing tool allows content to be captured from information providers (and, by extension, subscribers) so that it can be published onto a variety of platforms with minimal additional effort. For example information, in addition to or in lieu of being published on an online service, may be published on CD through a facility such as AppleLink CD (AppleLink CD allows a portion of the "static" content of an online service such as AppleLink to be published and distributed in CD form, with the result that the content is infinitely reusable without incurring connect charges. ) Furthermore, information previously published on one online service may be published on one or more other online services, or information may be published on several online services at the same time. A number of potentially "thorny" problems of distributed database systems are solved in an elegant and efficient manner.
