Abstract:

An electrical contact assembly including a housing defining a bore having an internal groove formed therein; an axial canted coil spring having a plurality of spring coils, each spring coil having a spring coil length, the plurality of spring coils disposed in the internal groove with a groove width having a width dimension; wherein at least one spring coil comprises a minor axis length that is greater than the width dimension. An insertion object sized for insertion into the bore of the housing; wherein a clamping force of the axial canted coil spring retains the insertion object within the bore; and wherein the axial canted coil spring provides an electrical conductive path between the insertion object and the housing that is less than 50% of the spring coil length.

Abstract:

An electrical contact assembly made from a stamped housing, having a first end with a spring groove housing formed over a canted coil spring in order to provide spring retention to a pin or post inserted into the housing. On the other end of the stamped housing, a wire/cable crimp assembly is formed. The spring, groove housing may be formed having an opening for insertion of the pin or post that is either substantially parallel or perpendicular to the base of the housing.

Abstract:

A disposable, double-ended, non-metallic dental scaler for personal use made of plastic, resin or another resilient material, comprising a handle and two dental picks projecting axially from either end of the handle. The dental pick includes a stem and an intermediate section projecting from the stem, terminating in a tapered tip. The tips are resilient and softer than conventional metallic tips used by professional dental practitioners. The two tips on the either ends of the handle are equally and oppositely angled with respect to the intermediate sections connected thereto. Due to this angled construction, one of the tips is used for cleaning on the right side of inter-proximal spaces between adjacent teeth while the other tip on the opposite end of the handle is used for cleaning on the left side of inter-proximal spaces.
