Abstract:

Described is a preferred wireless system for unlatching the door of a residence. The system includes a solenoid/strike plate assembly controlled by a receiver unit which in turn is controlled by RF or other electromagnetic signals. The preferred system is readily retrofit into existing residential structures with a single bore into the door jamb into which the solenoid/strike plate assembly is mounted, and includes a minimum of moving parts.
