I grew up in Nanjemoy, MD and was educated in the Charles County School System. Upon graduating Lackey High School in Marbury, MD I then attended Morgan State in Baltimore, MD. I was an Accounting major. I managed to receive 33 credits toward the degree and I will be in pursuit of a Marketing degree through Rappahannock Community College. I grew up in a country environment with a loving mother and father that have been married for 38 years. My dad John Johnson taught me at an early age about nature. My first time fishing, my dad took me to Smallwood State Park in Marbury, MD. My first fish was a 6 pound catfish. It was a joy for a 6 year old to see nature and the wonders of it around me. I instantly fell in love with fishing. I spent many days with my father bottom fishing The Lower Potomac and Chesapeake Bay for spot, perch, and croaker. When I learned how to drive, I spent time at Smallwood State Park learning how to fish for Largemouth bass. I was a little frustrated at first but I learned that fishing is like a puzzle. I needed to piece it together. Now at 30 years old I am an avid tournament angler that fishes 100 days a year. I have placed in the Top 25 in the Wal-Mart BFL Bass Tournaments and also have placed in the Top 15 fishing the US Anglers Choice Tournaments. I feel that my strongpoint is fishing for bass with topwater, finesse techniques, spinnerbaits and shallow crankbaits. I also love to use the old standard Texas-rigged worm. My favorite body of water to fish is the Potomac River because of the diversity of the fishery. I also have a strong background in saltwater fishing for stripers, bluefish, grey trout, and croakers. I like the fact that it is a brackish waterway so you can catch redfish and stripers also too if your lucky. I love to fish Lake Anna, the Rappahannock, River, and the Potomac River. I am sponsored by CB’s Hawg Sauce, Denali Rods, Pure Poison Jigs, Spro/Gamakatsu, and Potomac Mix Tackle. I will be fishing the Bassmasters Weekend Series MD division, a Everstart Series Tournament on the Potomac River, and the MD ABA American Fishing Tour. Others tournaments may be considered. I own a 1994 Ranger 481vs with a 150H.P. Johnson. I want the readers of my pro/field staff articles to utilize new techniques and strategies to make their fishing and experiences more pleasurable and successful. I would like to expand anglers’ minds about Chesapeake Bay restoration, preservation, and conservation. I participate in many fishing discussion boards such as Tidalfish.com. I also manage my own MySpace.com page and do online Facebook group chats. It enables me to network with other anglers with the same interests. My page is www.myspace.com/kris481vs and my email is
