Indiana Man Accused of Killing 7 Women Faces New Charges
The Lake County Prosecutor's Office filed the charges against Darren Vann, 44, in the deaths of Teaira Batey, 28; Tracy Martin, 41; Kristine Williams, 36; Sonya Billingsley, 53; and Tanya Gatlin, 27. The women's bodies were found in 2014 in abandoned buildings in northwest Indiana.
The victims include Teaira Batey, 28, of Gary, found in the 1800 block of East 19th Avenue, Kristine Williams, 36, of Gary, found in the 4300 block of Massachusetts St., Gary, and Tracy Martin, 41, of Gary, found at 2200 Massachusetts St., Gary. Wednesday Vigil Honors Women Found Slain in Gary Homes
ann, a former U.S.Marine and a registered sex offender in Texas and Indiana, has so far been charged in the deaths of two women:Afrikka Hardy and Kristine Williams. He has not been charged in the deaths of five other women found over the weekend, three of whom have yet to be positively identified.
