Wardens from the state Department of Fish and Wildlife arrived shortly. The department spokesman Kyle Orr stressed that the cougar was not acting aggressively but was in an unsafe placeand had to be moved away from the populated area.

Mountain lion captured at shopping center dies after being tranquilized
Fish and wildlife officials were contacted by a local sheriff about a mountain lion at The Promenade in Temecula just after 6 a.m., according to California Department of Fish and Wildlife spokesman Kyle Orr.
