Abstract:

An orthopedic walker having a rear crossbar which is pivotally mounted to two side frames allowing for sequential movement of one side frame forward relative to the other to facilitate walking. A pair of wrist guards are positioned at the top of each frame and the frames provide a smooth transitioning of a number of handholds to aid in standing from a seated position.

Abstract:

An apparatus for applying a fluid to hair is provided. The apparatus includes a reservoir for containing a fluid, sidewalls for defining the reservoir. The sidewalls form an elongate curvilinear cavity along an interior surface and forming an exterior surface, wherein the cavity includes the reservoir and having a top portion and a bottom portion and the cavity having a longitudinal axis. The applicator also includes a top endwall located at the top portion of the sidewalls and the endwall includes an elongate cavity for dispensing a fluid. A flexible lip is located adjacent the cavity for assistance in dispensing a fluid from the elongate cavity is also included in the applicator. The applicator includes a movable bottom endwall for containing the fluid within the reservoir and advancing fluid and a rotatable smoothing rod attached to the exterior surface of the sidewalls.

Abstract:

A hair separator and fluid applicator that includes a central handle portion, a parting portion disposed adjacent the central handle portion, and an applying portion disposed adjacent the central handle portion opposite the parting portion. The parting portion includes a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end being disposed opposite the central handle portion and generally narrowing from the proximal end to the distal end. The parting portion also may include a generally concave face. The applying portion includes a blade. The blade includes dimples or holes designed to increase the ability of less-viscous fluids or cremes to remain adhered to the surface of the blade. The applying portion may also include teeth disposed along a distal portion for assisting in the application and directional smoothing of the hair during use. The channels between the teeth may vary in shape, including (for example) being half-circular, ovular or rectangular in shape.

Abstract:

A device suitable for use as a permanent wave rod and hair styling roller is disclosed that employs a tubular component as a permanent wave rod, the tubular component having a first end portion, a second end portion, and a mid-portion therebetween about which to wind a lock of hair in the process of hairdressing. The device includes a first annular flange attached to the first end portion and a second annular flange attached to the second end portion, each flange having a periphery with a plurality of facets. A connector arrangement is included for enabling connection of each one of the end portions to a corresponding end portion of a similar device so that a facet on each one of the annular flanges bears against a facet on the similar device to inhibit rotation and unwinding of hair, without producing kinks in the hair.
