Abstract:

A valve bridge for a valve system of an engine includes one or more valves and a valve rotator coupled to the valves. The valve bridge includes one or more end portions, a seat formed at the one or more end portions to receive the one or more valves, and an extension portion that extends outwardly from the one or more end portions. The extension portion defines a cavity configured to accommodate the valve rotator, and guide the valve bridge with the valve rotator during each opening and closing of the one or more valves relative to the engine.

Abstract:

A valve bridge is disclosed for use with an internal combustion engine. The valve bridge may include a body with a central cavity formed in a center portion of the body for receiving a hydraulic lash adjuster, and opposing first and second lateral extensions on opposite sides of the central cavity. The valve bridge may further include a first bore in the first extension for receiving a first valve stem, and a second bore in the second extension for receiving a second valve stem. The valve bridge may also include a first internal groove in a wall of the central cavity configured to receive fluid, as well as a first internal passage in the body that extends from the first internal groove toward the first bore. In addition, the first internal passage may extend from a higher gravitational point within the body to a lower gravitational point within the body.

Abstract:

A roller assembly for application to a roller rocker arm is disclosed. The roller assembly includes a pin mountable to the roller rocker arm. The pin consists of a carbon steel. An inner race assembly operably connectable to the pin is provided, which includes an inner race member and an outer race member. The inner race member includes carbon steel and the outer race member includes a bronze material. The outer race member is fused to the inner race member, defining a contiguous and unitary inner race assembly. Moreover, a roller member is structured and arranged to be in rotatable engagement with the inner race assembly.
