Presented herein are biomarkers related to lung cancer. The presently identified salivary biomarkers create the basis for a lung cancer detection bioassay with sensitivity and specificity. Means and methods for evaluating the data generated using multiple biomarkers in order to validate findings and further use of the multiplexed lung cancer assay in clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic uses is also included.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to the identification of pancreatic cancer biomarkers for the detection of early pancreatic cancer. The present invention also provides methods of diagnosing pancreatic cancer and distinguishing between pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis. The present invention additionally provides kits that find use in the practice of the methods of the invention.

A panoramic system can receive content (e.g., live video) recorded in a landscape orientation and use a portrait dynamic crop window to display a portrait area of the received content. The panoramic system can further display the content in a landscape dynamic crop window that has a moveable user interface control that can pan the portrait crop window as the content plays in one or both of the dynamic crop windows.
Chemical Reprogramming Of Human Glial Cells Into Neurons For Brain And Spinal Cord Repair
Provided are methods and compositions from reprogramming human glial cells into human neurons. The reprogramming is achieved using combinations of compounds that can modify signaling via Transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP), glycogen synthase kinase 3 (GSK-3), and γ-secretase/Notch pathways. The reprogramming is demonstrated using groups of three or four compounds that are chosen from the group thiazovivin, LDN193189, SB431542, TTNPB, CHIR99021, DAPT, VPA, SAG; purmorphamine. Reprogramming is demonstrated using the group of LDN193189/CHIR99021/DAPT, the group of B431542/CHIR99021/DAPT, the group of LDN193189/DAPT/SB431542, the group of LDN193189/CHIR99021/SB431542, a three drug combination of SB431542/CHIR99021/DAPT. Reprogramming using functional analogs of the compounds is also provided, as are pharmaceutical formulations that contain the drug combinations.
This document provides methods and materials for treating brain injuries. For example, methods and materials for using nucleic acid encoding a NeuroD1 polypeptide to convert reactive astrocytes within a brain (e.g., cerebral cortex) into functional neurons (e.g., neurons that can be functionally integrated into the brain of a living mammal (e.g., a human)) are provided.

Chemical Reprogramming Of Human Glial Cells Into Neurons With Small Molecule Cocktail
Provided are compositions, articles and methods that relate to promoting neurogenesis or neuroregeneration in mammalian nervous system. Embodiments relate to use of groups of compounds that contain Crizotinib (Cri), Flurbiprofen, Lithium Chloride (Li), Vitamin C (VC), Ceritinib (Cer) or Pirfenidone (PFD). In certain implementations glial cells are converted into functional neurons.

A global north-to-south shift in wind power by end of century
is increasing rapidlyabout 20 percent a year. Karnauskas and colleagues Julie Lundquist and Lei Zhang, also in ATOC, wanted to better understand likely shifts in production, so they turned to an international set of climate model outputs to assess changes in wind energy resources across the globe. T
