Abstract:

A carrier for adjustably encircling and simultaneously positioning, a beverage container or article on a vehicle door, includes an insert portion and a support portion, both preferably resilient, and a receptacle. The insert portion, functioning in conjunction with the support portion, provides for removable, adjustable, and preferably clampable carrier mountability on vehicle doors of different interior thicknesses. The support portion is preferably equipped with horizontally and longitudinally aligned slots and the receptacle is equipped with a pair of resilient, container-encircling arms and a base member, all having hooked tab ends for cooperative releasable, adjustable spring-urged interconnection with the slots. Selection of particular slots for interconnection allows the carrier to accommodate beverage containers or articles of different diameters in close confinement and upright position. In a varient embodiment, a coin-tray-article container is substituted for a beverage container receptacle.

Abstract:

A holder for a beverage container includes a saddle spring clip for releasably securing the device to a chair. The clip is provided with a notched recess for snap-fitting engagement over a cross-bolt connection between a chair seat frame and a chair leg. A selectively rotatable receptacle, such as a socket member for accommodating a beverage container is supported from the clip and is preferably located below the plane of the seat frame. A plurality of upstanding posts and a base member confine the container, for side and bottom-gripping of the container. The posts are provided with flared ends to center the container for reinsertion within the socket. The posts also provide for reinsertion or removal of the container through the top or side of the socket. In an alternate embodiment a pouch member is substituted for the socket member.

Abstract:

A gripper for allowing a twist or screw type container cap to be removed with relatively little exertion by a person's hand, includes a generally solid body of rubber-like resilient material, the body having a recess in which a container cap can be snuggly fitted regardless of the cap size within a determined range of cap sizes. The body material is sufficiently elastic, in the region of the recess, to conform substantially to the outer periphery of the inserted container cap, so that an opening force is applied by the material to the outer periphery of the cap when the body is twisted by the user's hand and the cap is restrained by its associated container from rotation with respect to the gripper body.

Abstract:

A container closure device for a dispensing package container includes a shell having a pair of opposed face plates, a top plate, and a side panel in substantially orthogonal relationship. The face plates are resiliently urged toward each other for grippingly engaging the container. An elastomer material within the shell provides an air-tight seal with the container. Locking ridges within the face plates interact with a top wall and an end wall of the container for providing a snap-fitting engagement with the container. In an alternate embodiment, the face plates are independently displaceable with respect to the side panel for providing, gripping closure over a range of package widths. In another embodiment the shell is comprised of adjustably interfitting components for providing width adjustment.

Abstract:

A holder for a beverage container is mountable on tubular chair legs or like members having wide-rangingly different angles of inclination and diameters. The holder provides for plumb positioning of a beverage container and for deterring tilting and toppling of the container. Preferably, a diameter-adjustable, container-encircling member provides for closely confining containers having different diameters. The holder includes a rotatably positionable mounting clamp member, a receptacle member and a connecting member, which connecting member angularly and pivotably associates the clamp member with the receptacle member, thereby providing for said plumb positioning of said receptacle member, moment deterrence to said tilting and dispositional deterrence to said toppling. Preferably, the connecting member and the receptacle member are integrally formed out of manually-bendable metal rod material, which provides for said adjustability of the continer-encircling member. The metal rod material preferably is plastic-covered through for insulating against temperature variations to which the metal is subject and for cosmetic purposes.
