The specification discloses an attachment for converting a fixed bed truck with a passenger cab and hauling bed supported on a frame to a tilting bed truck. The attachment permits the rotation of the truck bed from a horizontal to a tilt position, such that the truck cab and bed, when the bed is in the horizontal position, assumes the same relative relationship as before the conversion. The attachment includes at least two hinges fixedly attached between the underside of the hauling bed and the rear of the truck frame to permit relative rotation between the hauling bed and frame. A first arm is pivotally connected at one of its ends to the forward portion of the frame and extends forwardly from the frame. A second arm is pivotally connected at one of its ends to the underside of the truck bed adjacent the forward end thereof and extends forwardly from the truck bed. A coupling member is pivotally connected at its opposite ends between the other ends of the first and second arms.

Abstract:
In a system for repairing asphalt surfaces including an emulsion tank, air pressure source, emulsion heating source, pneumatic tools and a vehicle having a fluid cooled engine and a utility body for containing asphalt repairing material, the improvement comprising an emulsion tank removably mounted on said vehicle for containing a water soluable, air cured, sealer-bonding agent, an air compressor mounted on and driven by said vehicle engine, an air storage tank removably mounted on said vehicle and coupled to said compressor and pressurized thereby, means for selectively coupling air from said pressurized tank to said pneumatic tools and said emulsion tank and means coupling said vehicle cooling fluid to said emulsion tank for heating said emulsion to a usable temperature whereby certain of said pneumatic tools may be selectively driven by said compressed air in said storage tank to trim a damaged asphalt surface, spray emulsion over said trimmed are under pressure from said compressed air tank, and compact said asphalt repairing material into said trimmed and sealed area thereby repairing said damaged asphalt area.

Abstract:
A truck bed tilting mechanism is provided for use between the hauling bed and frame of a truck having a bed pivotally connected adjacent the rear of the truck frame to permit relative rotation between the hauling bed and the frame. The tilting mechanism includes a first arm pivotally connected at one of its ends to the truck frame and extending forwardly from the frame. A second arm is pivotally connected at one of its ends to the truck bed adjacent the forward end of the bed and extending rearwardly from the truck bed. A third arm is pivotally connected between the end of the first arm remote from the frame and a point intermediate of the ends of the second arm. A fourth arm is pivotally connected between the end of the second arm remote from the hauling bed and a point intermediate of the end of the first arm. A variable length actuator arm is interconnected between the first and second arms at points intermediate of the ends of the first and second arms. The length of the actuator arm may be varied to unfold and collapse the tilting mechanism which results in the tilting of the truck bed relative to the frame.
