I have lived in Doylestown since before I entered first grade and have seen the town grow and change and yet still keep that small home town charm. Doylestown is now a destination town, a place to come, relax and enjoy the culture, the dining and above all the small town feel. If you are new to our community come into town on a Friday or Saturday night park you car and stroll the streets. We have diversity, restaurants, coffee shops, book stores and much more. It was not always like this though …
When I went away to college it was because there was nothing going on in Doylestown. As a kid we use to joke that they rolled the sidewalks up at 8pm. And there was no need to go to the local bowling alley you could roll the ball down the center of the streets and hit nothing. The only restaurant in town was Conti’s or Ed’s Diner unless of course you counted the counter at Woolworths.
My point is I’ve been around awhile and have seen Doylestown through good and bad times. I’ve moved away a few times and could not wait to get back home each time I left. (As a kid I always thought there had to be someplace better) Doylestown has pretty much everything you need and if not right in town within an hour commute you can find it. We are rich in culture, sports, dining even shopping. Come in and experience the culture that is Doylestown.
