Abstract:

A novel fatty polypropoxylate ester which is an ester of an aliphatic or an aromatic monoacid formed by reacting the acid with a stoichiometric excess of a polypropoxylated fatty alcohol. The compounds have the following structural formula: wherein R is a polypropoxylated fatty alcohol having the structural formula: wherein R is a saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic or aromatic moiety containing from 4 to 24 carbon atoms, and x is an integer from 3 to 30; and wherein R has the structural formula: wherein R , R and R are independently selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, propyl or isopropyl; or wherein R is H or OH or NH or methyl or ethyl. The compounds possess exceptional pigment dispersant and esthetic emollient properties for use in personal care and topical pharmaceutical preparations, e. g. , lipsticks, cream foundations, waterproof sunscreens, sunscreen lotions.

Novel mixed esters of dicarboxylic acids with monohydric fatty alcohols and propoxylated fatty alcohols show unexpected superior properties as pigment dispersants, especially for inorganic pigments used in foundations, make-ups, lipsticks and physical sunscreens. In a text-to-speech system, a method of converting text-to-speech can include receiving a text input and comparing the received text input to at least one entry in a text-to-speech cache memory. Each entry in the text-to-speech cache memory can specify a corresponding spoken output. Abstract:

A method, apparatus and a computer program product to generate an audible speech word that corresponds to text. The method includes providing a text word and, in response to the text word, processing pre-recorded speech segments that are derived from a plurality of speakers to selectively concatenate together speech segments based on at least one cost function to form audio data for generating an audible speech word that corresponds to the text word.
