Abstract:

A wireless wearable video headset device useful for viewing and listening to multimedia content. In one embodiment, the device operates by receiving a digital encoded audio/video signal from a host device of a Bluetooth™ wireless connection, the Bluetooth™ connection established via a Serial Port Profile (SPP), and the digital video signal having been previously compressed with Windows Media Video (WMV) or H. 264 compliant compression. The received digital audio/video signal is then forwarded over a Universal Serial Bus (USB) connection to an internal processor which then decompressed video content in the digital video signal to generate a component video signal that is suitable for handling by a display driver.

Abstract:

A wireless radio frequency switch controller that requires no batteries is disclosed, as is a method for interacting between the wireless radio frequency switch controller and a Bluetooth device. The wireless radio frequency switch controller taps into the existing garage door control wiring and uses capacitors to retain power (voltage and current), which is a form of energy harvesting. The Bluetooth device interaction causes a digital controlled switch such as a transistor, solid state switch, or electrochemical relay, which operates the desired garage door motor thereby opening and closing the garage door. Additionally, the wireless radio frequency switch controller may operate in conjunction with different parent systems such as thermostats, doorbells, security systems, or the like.

The apparatus disclosed is a wireless vibration sensor monitor and recorder along with the associated system and method of use. The apparatus contains a digital accelerometer that operates off six axes. The apparatus may also include features such as a temperature sensor and ambient light sensor. The system actively monitors time and battery voltage level, as well as records information pertinent to the health of the apparatus. Once affixed to an appliance or piece of machinery, the apparatus monitors the duration of the cycle and the vibrations produced to compile a cycle profile. Once the apparatus has determined the cycle or predetermined period to be complete, a notification is sent to a remote user. This signal may be received by any compatible Bluetooth low energy device.

Abstract:

A wireless radio frequency switch controller may be capable of being retrofit on to any existing parent system such as a thermostat, security system, garage door, and the like. The switch controller may have an external housing, a contact penetrating clip, a processor capable of being connected to a network, and a computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs for execution by the processor. The bottom of the contact penetrating clip preferably has at least one cutting surface. The cutting surface being capable of cutting an insulative covering for an electrical wire, once the contact penetrating clip is secured to the switch controller. The switch controller requires no batteries and harvests/stores energy from the parent system's existing wiring. The switch controller may be capable of being paired with a wireless receiver/transceiver by which the operation of the switch controller and subsequently the parent system may be manipulated.

Abstract:

A vehicle monitoring system and method of monitoring a vehicle has, in part, a monitoring device which couples to a vehicle by way of a cigarette adapter, universal serial bus port, or the like. Once coupled to the vehicle, the device draws and in some cases stored power from the vehicle's battery. The monitoring device contains a variety of sensing components including an accelerometer, transceivers, gyroscopes, thermometers, light sensors, and carbon dioxide sensors. These components take measurements based on the vehicle's movements and interoperability between working parts. This information is collected and sent via wireless connection to a compatible wireless device such as a smart phone. The information can then be sent to a remote web server and/or uploaded into different interpretive software including mapping software. The vehicle can then be maintained or serviced in a manner consistent with the needs identified from the data collected by the monitoring device.

When objects are shared by one user with another user, objectionable content, if identified as such, can be blocked from being shared, while the remainder of the shared objects can be accessed by the other user. Functions that allow sharing of content are implemented so as prevent sharing of objectionable content with another user, while allowing other content to be shared. A bridge for linking a first and a second wireless communication device and translating between differing wireless protocols is described and taught. The bridge system comprises at least one wireless device and a bridge apparatus. The bridge apparatus takes the form of a universal serial bus that contains components that allows it to function without a host system.
