Abstract:

A mobile electronic device detects a first virtual Bluetooth low energy (vBLE) signal from a first vBLE transceiver associated with a first merchant transaction device and a second vBLE signal from a second vBLE transceiver associated with a second merchant transaction device. An overlap region is determined including a first region corresponding to the first vBLE signal and a second region corresponding to the second vBLE signal. A checkout area is selected corresponding to the first region in response to receiving, from the first merchant transaction device, an indication of an external device receiving the second vBLE signal but not receiving the first vBLE signal. The mobile electronic device is then paired to the first merchant transaction device and a payment transaction is initiated with the first merchant transaction device.

Abstract:

Provided are check-in to checkout systems and methods. The system includes a point of sale, a display, a mobile device, and a backend system. When the POS starts a transaction, such as, but not limited to scanning an item, the POS generates a transaction/basket identification. In response to starting the transaction, the POS sends the transaction/basket ID to the display in the form of a QR code or one-dimensional barcode. The mobile device operating a mobile application scans and captures the displayed code and reports to the backend systems. The backend systems then send a check-in event, which includes gathered data by the backend systems, to the POS and the POS acknowledges receipt of the message. At this point, a notification may be sent to the mobile application that the check-in was successful and a link is established for flow of information.

Abstract:

In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to determining a disposition path for a returned item. In some embodiments, a system comprises a database including item-specific data for a plurality of items and customer data for a plurality of customers, a control circuit configured to determine a suggested disposition path for each of the items, transmit the suggested disposition path for each of the plurality of items, and a user device configured to receive, from a user, a return initiation including an indication of an item and a customer, and transmit the return initiation, wherein the control circuit is further configured to receive the return initiation, determine a trust score for the customer, determine a suggested disposition path for the item, determine, based on the trust score and the suggested disposition path, a disposition path for the item, and transmit an indication of the disposition.

Abstract:

Examples provide pairing of a mobile electronic device with a merchant transaction device associated with a checkout area at a merchant facility. A plurality of advertising packets are received by the mobile electronic device. Each advertising packet of the plurality of advertising packets is associated with an individual beacon transceiver of a plurality of beacon transceivers. A checkout area of a plurality of checkout areas is identified within a beacon zone defined by an analysis of at least one parameter associated with the received advertising packets. A merchant pairing screen is generated at the mobile electronic device to pair the mobile electronic device to a merchant transaction device at the checkout lane of the plurality of checkout lanes. A pairing process for customer check-in to pick up an item is also provided in some examples.

Abstract:

Provided are a re-using e-commerce payment instruments for in-store purchasing systems and methods. A customer enters a check out and a transaction at the point of sale is started. The system receives a pairing request at a wallet processor from a customer mobile device operating a mobile application. This pairing request is created and sent in response to scanning of a code having a transaction identification. The system associates a customer payment profile with the transaction identification and sends associated information to the point of sale. The point of sale sends an amount of sale to authorize to the wallet processor after completing scanning of items. The system creates an authorization for payment and sending the authorization for payment to an authorizer. The transaction may then be completed by processing payment.

Abstract:

Provided is a merchant split tender system and method. A cashier completes a scan of merchandise and enters tendering phase. The point of sale sends a the request to authorize a total dollar amount to a wallet processor. The wallet processor accesses a customer payment profile to determine if there is a split tender configuration. If there is a split tender configuration, the wallet processor determines a first account and a second account to use for providing tender for the purchase. The first account and the second account to use is determined by the customer payment profile. The first account may be authorized first and then the second account may be authorized for the remaining amount. The system may also use more than two accounts. This process happens automatically based on the customer payment profile.

A point-of-sale system is provided that permits users to self-manage prepaid debit cards. Such a system may be capable of identifying and managing a number of different prepaid debit cards provided by different card issuers. The system may permit, for example, a user to purchase, activate, load funds, or perform other management operations with such cards. Abstract:

A refund processing system and method for automatically processing refunds to a mobile payment account of a customer is provided. The method includes the steps of receiving sales transaction information from a transaction records database, in response to a request from a point of sale device when a refund for an item is initiated, transmitting the sales transaction information to calculate an amount of funds to be refunded to a payment instrument, detecting that the payment instrument is not valid while attempting to apply the refund, and determining whether an electronic gift card is currently associated with the mobile payment account of the customer, and if so, applying the refund to the electronic gift card, and if not, creating a new electronic gift card and applying the amount of funds to the new electronic gift card.
