Abstract:

Lightweight trays are fabricated containing a multitude of cavities in shapes for molding dobies for supporting concrete reinforcing, such as rebar. The trays are sized to fit boxes of a convenient size and weight. The trays are also designed in a way that when placed into the box they make a seal between the tray edges and the inside wall of the box. This seal allows the cavities in the tray to be filled with grout without spilling into a lower tray. The trays are also designed so that when placed into the box and turned, alternating 180 to each other, the lower tray provides support to the upper tray. The boxes are sealed and the dobies are allowed to cure inside the box. The size and arrangement of trays and boxes is designed to fit uniformly on a standard pallet for convenient handling, storage, and shipping.

Abstract:

A handheld device for golfers is disclosed which determines the slope from a golf ball's location on the golf course to the cup or pin on a green. The device includes: a housing; a sight mounted on the housing for aiming the device at the flag of the pin; a tilt sensor for measuring the slope or tilt of the aimed device; a display wheel cooperating with the tilt sensor for indicating the slope or tilt of the aimed device; and, a chart affixed to the housing including actual ball to cup distances, slope indications and yardage adjustments which are added to or subtracted from the actual distances to enable the golfer to estimate the effective shot distance of the ball to the cup. A software application is also disclosed for estimating the effective shot distance of a golf ball to a target on a handheld device such as a smart phone.

Abstract:

An object retention form liner is described for use in holding and transferring objects, such as thin bricks to the finished surface of concrete structures. The form liner is produced by strategically positioning a plurality of bricks in a face-up position in a flat, shallow mold. Recesses sized to fit the bricks can be provided in the surface of the mold with a sealing ridge provided between each of the recesses. The bricks are positioned in the recesses and a liquid elastomeric material is poured into the mold to cover the bricks. Reinforcing fiberglass mesh can be embedded in the elastomeric material to provide additional tensile strength to the liner. Upon setting, the liner and retained bricks are removed from the mold and the liner can be stored, shipped or used in concrete construction. The liners are attached to the inside surface of concrete forms and the bricks are held rigidly in place while the concrete is poured and sets. Upon removal of the form and liner, the bricks remain permanently embedded in the surface of the concrete structure providing an improved aesthetic appearance.

Abstract:

A disposable object form line for use in horizontal casting of building panels from settable material in which at least one side has an exposed face of embedded objects. The object form liner is comprised of a thin support sheet having an adhesive coating on one side. A closed cell plastic grid having ridges which define openings sized to fit the outer perimeter of the intended objects is provided. The grid is adhered to the adhesive coating on the support sheet. Retarder strips may be inserted in each opening to prevent contamination of the face of the object during the pouring process. The form liner is placed in the bottom of a horizontal mold. The objects, such as bricks, are positioned in the openings provided in the layout form liner and the settable material is poured into the mold to form a construction panel. After setting, the panel and disposable form liner are removed from the mold and the liner is stripped from the panel to expose the objects embedded in the surface.
