Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a system and method for processing sending information in a sending device. The method comprises receiving at least a fragment of a destination address/number to which information is to be sent; cross-referencing the address/number fragment with a database assigned to the user to see if the address/number matches an address/number saved for that user; and automatically caching the address/number in the user's database if it has not been previously saved. Abstract:

A scanner is disclosed that may include a flatbed scanner with a scanner lid that has a keyboard of a desktop computer attached to the scanner lid in such a manner that the keyboard does not slide off the scanner lid when the scanner lid is lifted to scan bound documents, books or other 3D objects. The scanner of the present invention may also include a flatbed scanner that has the keyboard as an integral part of the scanner lid such that the keyboard/scanner lid is lifted when bound documents, books or other 3D objects are to be scanned. The scanner of the present invention may also include an automatic document feeder that can be attached to one of the sides of the scanner in such a manner that it would not interfere with the keyboard and mouse operations. The scanner of the present invention may also include a wrist pad and a mouse that are integral with the scanner lid.

Abstract:

An adapter for scanning transparent images using a reflective scanner. The adapter receives light from a lamp inside the scanner and redirects the light through the transparent image and back into the scanner. The scanner has an offset between an illumination line and a scan line. An angle of the adapter relative to the surface of a platen on the scanner is dependent on the distance between the illumination line and the scan line. At least one angle adjuster is provided on the adapter to enable the adapter to be used on scanners having different offsets. In addition, the adapter is made wider than the transparent image to be scanned, so that when the scan line is at a leading or trailing edge of the transparent image, the adapter still captures light from the lamp within the scanner.

Abstract:

A universal space saving flatbed scanner stand that has a scanner platform section and a counterweight platform section which are connected by a hinge that permits the two sections to be at approximately 180 degree angle or 90 degree angle with respect to each other. The flatbed scanner stand permits a desktop to be extended to allow space for a flatbed scanner. The flatbed scanner may be used when the flatbed scanner stand is in the fully extended (180 degree) position. Some scanners may be used when the flatbed scanner stand is in the folded-up (90 degree) position. Alternatively, when the flatbed scanner is not being used, the flatbed scanner stand may be in the folded-up (90 degree) position, in which the flatbed scanner takes-up the space of a sheetfeed scanner. A CPU box, monitor, printer or other sufficiently heavy object may be positioned on the counterweight platform in order to counter the weight of the flatbed scanner on the scanner platform section of the scanner stand. The scanner stand may also include a cabling hole for the scanner power cable and other cables to be threaded through.
