Abstract:

A mechanism for producing turbulent flow of the air moving over the rear deck of a vehicle is an air flow control apparatus comprising a vehicle spoiler of a typical and well known type having a horizontal portion joined integrally with spaced apart vertical standoffs. Mounted between the standoffs is a rotating spinner held in bearing sets. The spinner provides blades configured for rotating the spinner when the vehicle moves using its slipstream.

A buoyancy compensator vest for providing adjustable buoyancy at various underwater depths by having a back portion for supporting an air tank and an air bladder for inflating and deflating, a portion of the air bladder of which is situated in the arms which surround the waist of the wearer. The improvement of an adjustment strap which can provide continuous variation within limits, of the reach of each of the inflatable arms of the vest whereby the girth of the vest can be continuously and uniformly adjusted to accommodate a wide range of body sizes, in particular waist sizes.

A vest incorporating a pull element operatively connected to a plurality of tether lines extending along pathways to panel connection points at which front and rear panels of the vest are adjoined. Abstract:

A turbocharger includes a compressor wheel and shaft assembly in which a threaded connection is provided between the shaft and the compressor wheel. A pair of pilot surfaces on the shaft and on the compressor wheel are located on either end of the threaded sections of the shaft and compressor wheel, and are displaced radially from the threads. Accordingly, the piloting functions which assure concentricity between the shaft and compressor wheel are kept entirely separate from the attachment function provided by the threads, thereby permitting the concentricity between the compressor wheel and shaft to be held to tighter tolerances than would be possible if the threads also performed a piloting function.
