Abstract:

A drawer for use in furniture defining drawer support slides comprises: (a) a generally rectangular frame defining parallel peripheral guide rails for cooperation with said support slides whereby the drawer may be advanced and retracted, and (b) a basket having flexible walls supported by and hanging from said frame, whereby the basket may be collapsed upwardly toward a plane defined by the frame. The basket walls may be removably attached to the frame, and the latter may be defined by inner and outer frame loop members defining slots to receive basket wall portions.

A butterfly chair construction, adapting the chair for packaging in a small container, and for rapid assembly by the user, includes: (a) a framework that includes (i) multiple generally V-shaped upper members, each having two legs, (ii) multiple generally V-shaped lower members, each having two legs (iii) multiple cross pieces each having multiple arms, (b) the two legs of each upper member sized to interfit, respectively, two arms of two different cross pieces, and (c) the two legs of each lower member sized to interfit, respectively, two arms of two different cross pieces.

Abstract:

A butterfly chair, capable of rapid assembly, includes (a) a framework that includes two U-shaped members, the first having a lower cross piece and two first legs that project upwardly and forwardly, and the second having a lower cross piece and two second legs that project upwardly and rearwardly, (b) pivots interconnecting the first and second legs at two locations, so that the members may swivel between collapsed and extended positions, (c) the legs restrained against collapse in said extended positions, and (d) the upper terminals of the legs being hook shaped for loose reception in pockets of a flexible sheet providing a seat and backrest.
