Clackamas County sheriffs spokesman Marcus Mendoza said that 23-year-old and George Fox University senior Mary Owen was found Saturday morning on Sandy Glacier. A helicopter crew spotted her and immediately flew the hiker to Legacy Emanuel Hospital.

Hiker survives after six days stranded on Mount Hood
An Oregon National Guard Helicopter spotted Mary Owen below Sandy Glacier, near the Pacific Crest Trail. She was hoisted into the helicopter and immediately taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital suffering from frost bite.
As searchers wrapped up their efforts at nightfall, a Clackamas County sheriff's spokesman said the search for 23-year-old Mary Owen would resume Saturday, when an Oregon National Guard helicopter was expected to assist.Mary Owen's SUV was found late Thursday in the parking lot at Timberline Lodge, the sheriff's office said. Deputies said it appeared to have been there for some time, and Owen's backpack was inside. Deputies think she went off hiking by herself and may be short of supplies.
