I have been involved in radio broadcasting for over 20 years. Starting out at a local hospital radio station on my 18th birthday (and almost missing my own BBQ party in the process!!). In 1994, I joined Krystal Radio, which at the time was commissioning specialist shows for local youth clubs. Fast forward to 1999 where Krystal Radio was broadcasting to a potential audience of 320,000 (the local residential population) on a 28 day Restricted Service License. 2010, Krystal Radio took the bold step of heading into Internet Broadcasting and launched in January. I quickly established that supporting new and up-and-coming artists was the way forward and promptly contacted as many people as he could on various social networking sites. I already have a few world exclusives under my belt and a number of interviews with indie artists, some of which can be heard on my podcast site: http://mattbarker.podomatic.com Artists can submit mp3s & bios for airplay and arrange interviews via email: [email protected] I was asked to cover paternity leave and presented a twice monthly show on Deuce Radio (www.deucemp.com) during 2012, which is available on Podcast. The show is also broadcast on over 25 radio stations worldwide who have accepted the offer of including the show in their programming schedule. These range from Internet and University to Digital and FM stations with combined listening figures of over 100,000 people.
