Matt Liston, the documentary filmmaker and organizer of the One At Bat campaign, told me after Tuesdays unforgettable game at Marlins Park that there were actually several teams that were equally interested in recent weeks.
The "one at-bat" theme was constructed by filmmaker Matt Liston, a Cubs fan who received over 20,000 signatures for an online petition for Greenberg to receive one at-bat. Since Greenberg was hit by a pitch in his only plate appearance, it does not count as an official Major League at-bat.
Greenberg in part has filmmaker Matt Liston to thank. Liston this year initiated the "One At Bat" campaign. He produced a You Tube video chronicling Greenberg's story and started a petition to get Greenberg his first official major league at-bat. It has more than 22,000 signatures on change.org.
