Abstract:

An apparatus and methods are provided for monitoring a well and for obtaining fluid samples from below the ground. The apparatus includes a single-piece, extruded plastic well stock that extends from the surface of the ground to the lowest sampling depth. Plural sampling intervals are defined between the surface and the lowest sampling depth. Sampling intervals are defined by isolating sections of the borehole by using packers that seal the annular space between the well stock and the borehole. The well stock includes plural longitudinal chambers. Inlet holes are put into the well stock so that inlets for each interval admit fluid to only one longitudinal chamber. Inert sealant is injected below inlets to prevent fluid from spreading below a desired level. Instructions are placed into the longitudinal chambers to monitor fluids in the chambers or to retrieve samples, or alternatively, the well stock can be removed to obtain samples.

Abstract:

An abdominal training device includes a stationary base with a user support surface and a hub connected to a track with a friction mitigation unit and a track anchor. A console is slidably mounted on the track and includes a hand support member and a console anchor. A bearing is fixedly mounted to the proximal end of the track and supports an elastic resistance element with one end attached to the track anchor and the other end attached to the console anchor. A beam rigidly connects the track to the hub of the stationary base so that the track is at least partially rotatable about the hub of the stationary base. The device may also include an electronic training program that directs a user to rotate the track to specified positions. The device may be part of an abdominal training kit.

Abstract:

An interactive exercise device includes a stationary base to which a first exercise implement is movably connected. A first resistance element is operably connected to the first exercise implement to provide resistance against at least some movements of the first exercise implement relative to the stationary base. An interactive motion guide that directs a user of the interactive exercise device to move the first exercise implement relative to the stationary base in an indicated manner is operably connected to the interactive exercise device. The interactive motion guide includes first and second electronic indicators to which a processor is operably connected. A non-transitory and tangible computer readable medium is operably connected to the processor and includes instructions to manipulate output of the first and second electronic indicators in response to movement of the first exercise implement relative to the stationary base.

Abstract:

A flat panel video display comprising a separable and removable cartridge comprising connectors and/or circuitry of the input/output electronics that can be removed from the video display. The input/output (and optionally the A/C power) circuitry is enclosed in the cartridge, which can be inserted into and removed from a similarly shaped cavity in the case of the video display. Both the cartridge and cavity have corresponding channels allowing the cartridge to slide properly into place while preventing incorrect insertion of the cartridge. Once fully inserted into the cavity, all electronic connections are made between the circuit board (and optionally A/C power) in the cartridge and the rest of the video display are made allowing the video display to function normally. The cartridge body has a latching mechanism tensioned by a spring allowing it to lock into place. The latch is disengaged by depressing a button on the exposed side of the cartridge, allowing the cartridge to be removed. The lip of the cartridge around the depressed button can serve as a handle to pull out the cartridge. If A/C power is integrated into the cartridge, the latch can activate a switch that breaks the connection of the hot wire and the neutral (leaving the ground connected) cutting power to all electronics in the cartridge and video display and preventing a potentially harmful arc while removing or inserting the cartridge.
