Abstract:

A disk drive is disclosed comprising a head actuated over a disk comprising a plurality of servo sectors defining a plurality of servo tracks. The servo tracks form a plurality of servo zones. A disk locked clock is synchronized relative to a servo data rate of the servo zone the head is over. A first reader/writer gap is measured in cycles of the disk locked clock at a first servo track in the first servo zone. A second reader/writer gap is measured in cycles of the disk locked clock at a second servo track in the second servo zone. The first and second reader/writer gaps are normalized to generate a normalized first and second reader/writer gaps. A third reader/writer gap is estimated in cycles of the disk locked clock at a third servo track in the second servo zone based on the normalized first and second reader/writer gaps.

Abstract:

A composite board for use as backerboard for tile, the board including a mesh layer with a mesh fabric, a mat layer with a mat fabric and a polystyrene layer disposed between the two portions where a non-shrinking cement compound saturates and connects the two outer portions with the polystyrene substrate. The composite board's mesh layer incorporates a stretchable mesh which in conjunction with the polystyrene substrate and the non-shrinking cement compound supports standard fasteners used in the home-building industry along with providing a suitable tile adhesion surface. The mat layer incorporates a fiberglass mat which provides high rigidity as well as being suitable for contact with an inner wall or studs. The combination of materials provides a backerboard that is light weight, rigid, economical and easy to build with.

Abstract:

A composite board for use as backerboard for tile includes outer reinforcement portions and a polystyrene layer disposed between the two outer reinforcement portions, at least one of the outer reinforcement portions being an outer mat fabric reinforcement layer with a mat fabric, and a non-shrinking cement compound saturating and connecting the two outer portions with the polystyrene substrate. A method of installing a composite tile backerboard involves placing the composite board against a fixture protruding from a flat surface, pressing the composite board against the fixture to emboss the features of the fixture on the surface of the composite board, and cutting a hole in the composite board based upon the features of the fixture embossed on the composite board.

A method and apparatus for providing power management enhancements. In an embodiment, the method comprises receiving an indication that the computing device is in a non-user-interactable state and powering down non-essential device components such that the computing device is configured to enter a low power state. A method for data synchronization across multiple target destinations in a computer network includes acquiring information about the target destinations, wherein: the target destinations comprises at least one of a network account in the computer network, or a target device coupled to the computer network or associated with the network account; and the acquired information includes identification information associated with the target destinations. The method may also include receiving, at a user device, data from a data source; filtering the received data based on information included in the received data and in the identification information; identifying, based on the filtering, a selected target destination for receiving the filtered data; and transmitting the filtered data to the identified selected target destination.
