Abstract:

A retail display packaging assembly which combines a transparent plastic clamshell and a mannequin face (or other mannequin body parts) to provide an advantageous display for selected products. In a preferred embodiment disclosed herein, the product comprises a snorkeling set having a snorkel tube and a swimmers mask. The mannequin face is positioned within the clamshell for retaining the swimmers mask over the eyes and nose of the mannequin in much the same manner as an actual swimmer would wear the mask. In addition, the snorkel tube is positioned relative to the mannequin face in much the same manner as it would be positioned adjacent a swimmers face. The clamshell is vacuum formed from a clear sheet of PVC plastic and the bottom portion of the clamshell is configured to provide upper and lower parts that are congruent to the mannequin face and have a gap for receiving the strap of the swimmers mask. The mannequin face is secured to the congruent parts by respective tabs and recesses and thus secures the mask which encircles the mannequin face. The mannequin face is preferably vacuum formed from an opaque PVC plastic and thus provides a highly visible face-shaped structure âwearingâ the mask and snorkel within a transparent packaging container.

Abstract:

A display packaging assembly for swim masks and goggles which have corrective lenses. In a first preferred embodiment for a mask and a second preferred embodiment for a pair of goggles, the product is contained in a transparent plastic shell and is located on a mannequin face or face portion in a configuration which simulates how the product would be worn by a swimmer. The opposing surfaces of the shell and the simulated eye portions of the mannequin are open at the lenses of the product. These openings permit a prospective purchaser to look through the corrective lenses without opening the package and without removing the product. Because the mannequin face or face portion is curved to provide a generally concave surface, the prospective purchaser may place the lenses of the mask or goggles in close proximity to his or her eyes without necessarily touching the package to the face and without touching any portion of the product itself.

Abstract:

A method for packaging a full set of snorkel components and a resulting package. Swim fins are arranged in an overlapping configuration. A mask including its strap, surrounds the two overlapping fins with the mask positioned about halfway between the ends of the fins and facing in the same direction as the foot aperture of the front-facing fin. A snorkel tube is positioned on the edge of the overlapping fins in a direction generally parallel to the length of the fins. The snorkel tube may be attached to the mask strap and the mouthpiece of the snorkel tube is placed between the mask and the foot aperture. This assembled set of snorkel components is placed in a clear plastic, zippered bag having a narrow end and a wider end. An optional cover carton may be added to cap the respective ends of the zippered bag, provide added structural support and provide surfaces for some limited graphics.

Abstract:

A direct-coupled level shifter to level shift a ground referenced input logic signal to an output logic signal that can have either a positive or negative reference. The level shifter includes two level shift drivers, each of which includes a positive level shift driver and a negative level shift driver. The positive level shift drivers operate when the reference of the latch is above ground and turn off when the reference is below ground. Similarly, the negative level shift drivers operate when the reference is below ground and turn off when the reference is above ground. The output logic signal is based on the output from the positive level shift driver receiving the input signal and the output from the negative level shift driver receiving an inverse of the input signal. The inverse of the output logic signal is based on the output from the positive level shift driver receiving an inverse of the input signal and the output from the negative level shift driver receiving the input signal.
