Abstract:

A latchbolt configured for use with a door lock assembly. The door lock assembly is configured for interaction with a strike coupled to a door frame, and operable to place the latchbolt in a locked configuration using the strike to generally prevent rotation of the door and an unlocked configuration to allow rotation of the door. The latchbolt includes a first member and a second member movably coupled to the first member. When the latchbolt is in the locked configuration the second member is movable relative to the first member from a first position to a second position in response to a predetermined force applied to the door.

The exit door assembly includes an exit device configured to be mounted on the surface of the door, the exit device including a manually movable member, a latch mechanism configured to be mounted adjacent one of the top and the bottom of the door, the latch mechanism including a latch movable between a locking position and a non-locking position, and a non-rigid device for causing movement of the latch in response to movement of the manually movable member.

Abstract:

An overhead mounted door holder assembly, for attachment between a door jamb and a door, to hold the door in an open position includes a jamb bracket attached to the door jamb and a jamb arm pivotally attached to the jamb bracket. A channel assembly having a longitudinally extending channel is attached to the door. A slide assembly is disposed within the channel and is pivotably connected to the jamb arm. A slide catch on the slide assembly is provided for the door holding function. First and second springs are attached to the channel assembly and positioned within the channel, and a spring mounted catch is attached to the first and second springs. In operation, the spring mounted catch is pivotably positioned in the channel to engage the slide catch and reversibly hold the door in an open position.

Abstract:

The mechanism is configured to operate both a primary latch bolt and secondary latches, and provides for immediate, ready egress for the side of a door to which the mechanism is mounted, but offers high security for the other, outside of the door. The latch bolt is directly controlled by a first linkage, and the secondary latches are directly controlled by a second linkage. During egress, both linkages translate together, via a pin connection. However, a lost motion arrangement prevents retraction of either the bolt, or the secondary latches, if the other is compromised (or operated by a key or combination). From the outside, high security side of the door, the latch bolt and the secondary latches must be retracted together.

Abstract:

Abstract:

The assembly comprises two, snap-together pieces which, following their clinched or latched engagement, are freely rotatable relative to each other. One of the two pieces comprises a sleeve which has an inner annular land, and the other of the two pieces comprises a rod having flexible extending fingers which terminate in outwardly-directed, land-engaging and latching lugs. The rod is slid into the sleeve, with the lug-ended fingers entering first, and, consequently, the fingers are resiliently forced inwardly until the lugs reach the land. Then the fingers spring outwardly while the lugs latch onto the land. This latching together of the pieces requires no tools.

Abstract:

An electromagnetic lock assembly has longitudinally extending interlocking protrusions and recesses in the magnet and magnet housing surfaces. This permits longitudinal movement of the magnet within the housing, but prevents lifting of the magnet out of the housing. End caps and an electronic circuitry cover clamp the magnet longitudinally within the housing and provide the mounting bolt brackets. An armature, providing for distribution of separating forces, reduces bending tendencies in the armature contact plate and thereby increases the effective separation load bearing capability of the lock assembly.

Abstract:

A door holder assembly, for attachment between a door jamb and a door, to hold the door in an open position includes a jamb bracket attached to the door jamb and a jamb arm pivotally attached to the jamb bracket. A channel assembly having a longitudinally extending channel is attached to the door, and a hold open stop is fixed in the channel of the channel assembly. The hold open stop is configured to have a stop element with a first ramp and a second ramp engageable by a slide assembly. The slide assembly is pivotally attached to the jamb arm and positioned for longitudinal movement in the channel, with the slide assembly having a slide frame configured to support a rocker pivotably connected to the slide frame. The rocker has a catch on one side of a pivot and rocker face on the opposite side of the pivot, with the catch configured to slide over the first ramp for reversible engagement with the second ramp of the stop element to hold the door in an open position. The force required to slide the catch over the first and second ramps is determined by the preload force on an adjustment wedge that engages the rocker face.
