Abstract:

An electronic door security system employs an input console having three readers for enhanced security. A microprocessor processes inputs applied at each of the readers to selectively permit access through a secured door. Application of an input to any of the readers transforms the controller from a sleep mode to an active mode.

Abstract:

A control system is for a lock of a door movably disposed within a frame and having a latch engageable with the frame, an interior handle connected with the latch and an exterior handle connectable with the latch. A connective mechanism is configured to releasably connect the exterior handle with the latch and an input device is configured to generate an unlock signal. A controller is coupled with the input device and configured to operate the connective mechanism such that the mechanism connects the exterior handle with the latch. The controller is selectively operable in a standard mode where the controller operates the mechanism when the controller receives the unlock signal and a lockdown mode where the controller does not operate the mechanism when receiving the unlock signal. A lockdown-input device coupled with the controller is configured to generate a lockdown signal to switch the controller to the lockdown mode.

Abstract:

A door security system for controlling access through a door of a secured area by controlling a lock status of an associated locking unit of the door. The system includes an operator that operates the locking unit of the door, a key pad, a magnetic card reader, and a contact activatable data port. A data processor is responsive to the magnetic card reader, the data port, and the keypad for controlling the operator. Each of the keypad, the magnetic card reader, and the contact activatable data port can manipulate the lock status of the locking unit of the door. The data processor further comprises link means for requiring multiple entries for implementing the lock status of the door.

Abstract:

A method of collecting data in a lock system. The method includes providing each user with a credential that contains user information, presenting the credential at an off-line access point, and reading the user information from the credential. The method also includes analyzing the user information at the first off-line access point to determine if access to the first off-line access point should be allowed, sending event data from the off-line access point to the credential, and selectively overwriting existing event data and storing the sent event data on the credential. The invention further includes presenting the credential at an on-line access point and reading the user data and reading the event data.

Abstract:

A method of evaluating damper operation for a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system includes moving a plurality of dampers of the HVAC system collectively to a baseline damper position. The plurality of dampers is positioned at a flowpath including a fan driven by a motor. The fan is operating by switching the motor on and a baseline output level at the motor is measured. A first damper of the plurality of dampers is commanded to move from the baseline damper position to a first damper position and a first output level at the motor is measured. The first output level is compared to the baseline output level. A difference is indicative of successful movement of the first damper from the baseline damper position to the first damper position.
