Abstract:

A modular heat recovery ventilation system includes a modular heat exchanger and a modular apparatus spaced from the heat exchanger for delivering both fresh air and exhaust air to the heat exchanger. The apparatus includes separate blowers for generating two separate air streams. The apparatus includes an access plate at the bottom thereof allowing access to the interior of the enclosure of the apparatus through a ceiling.

Abstract:

The pre-cooler includes one or more cells which are oriented about an air stream to be cooled. A housing defines a perimeter of the cell with an inlet and outlet for air passing therethrough. Water outlet nozzles within the housing are preferably supported upon bars which orient the nozzles facing in a direction counter to flow of air through the housing. Each nozzle is coupled to a separate stage with multiple stages of nozzles coupled to separate valves. A controller opens or closes different valves. The controller measures ambient humidity and temperature conditions as well as air flow rates to calculate the amount of water to be added to the air and then opens appropriate numbers of stages of valves so that an appropriate number of nozzles spray water into the air to saturate the air. Flow rate control is thus provided without pressure variations, for optimal nozzle performance.

A method is provided for supplying alternating current (AC) electricity. The method includes receiving direct current (DC) electricity from a source of electric power at a motorized pump, and converting the DC electricity from the source of electric power to AC electricity. This includes converting the DC electricity to first motive power at the motorized pump to move water from a source location to at least one supply location. The water is supplied from the at least one supply location to a turbine, and kinetic energy of the water is converted to second motive power at the turbine. The second motive power is converted to the AC electricity at an electric generator that is connected to the turbine, and the AC electricity is supplied from the electric generator.

Abstract:

Systems and methods are disclosed for enabling an operator of a load facility to nominate a specific level of load curtailment into an auction or scheduling mechanism of an independent system, transmission, or distribution system operator (ISO). A load operator manages demand requirements for a subsequent day using a user interface, which in one embodiment provides a view of expected demand, curtailment bid, and backfill planning on an hourly basis. Demand curtailment bids are communicated to the power transmission system operator. Accepted bids are displayed on the user interface. In embodiments, the power transmission system operator communicates curtailment instructions to the load facility to manage process scheduling and/or on-site generation capabilities to effectuate demand reduction. The described systems and methods provide enhanced flexibility to load facility operators to maintain needed control, helps ensure the lack of negative impacts on core processes, and encourages participation in demand-side management initiatives.

Abstract:

Media file distribution is be controlled by encrypting the media file by an application executed on a mobile device of the media file owner. The media file is encrypted using a media file encryption key. The media file encryption key is then separately encrypted using a public key of each intended recipient, and the encrypted media file encryption key is appended to the encrypted media file. Accordingly, only intended recipients will have the complementary private key to allow decryption of the encrypted media file encryption key, which once decrypted can be used to decrypt the encrypted media file itself.
