Abstract:

A traffic management system and method are provided that determine and present a target speed for a vehicle to travel from a first position to a second position when a signaling device at the second position is in a desired phase. The target average speed can be presented via a variety of output devices, such as a display and/or speaker. The output device could, for example, be stationary, at a fixed distance from the signaling device, such as a roadside display. The output device could be a mobile device, carried in a vehicle or by a user, e. g. , a cell phone, GPS navigation system, or personal digital assistant. The system can include a signal timing processor that determines a target average speed of travel between the first and second positions, which can be based on, or calculated from, timing information of the signals and a distance between the two positions.

Abstract:

A releasably detachable forklift assembly is coupled to a snowplow mount on a light truck to utilize the mechanical actuating features of the snowplow assembly to actuate the forklift assembly for lifting the forklift and angling it. The use of the light truck provides for forklift transport, adequate clearance for uneven terrain, and with the height of the seat of the light truck affording excellent visibility above the load carried by the tines of the forklift assembly.

Abstract:

Disclosed are methods for inducing cardiomyogenic differentiation in cells that are competent for differentiation along the cardiomyogenic lineage such as certain unfractionated bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNCs). In some embodiments, the methods include contacting a plurality of unfractionated, density gradient-separated BMMNCs with a cardiomyocyte differentiation-inducing amount of a Wnt11 gene product for a time and under conditions sufficient to induce cardiomyocyte differentiation in at least a subset of the BMMNCs. Also provided are methods for treating an injury to cardiac tissue in a subject using cells that have been induced to differentiate along the cardiomyogenic lineage, recombinant host cells comprising an expression vector that encodes a Wnt11 polypeptide or a functional fragment thereof, and systems for inducing cardiomyogenic differentiation in a cultured cell.

A thermal insulation system includes an evacuated structure having an internal space filled with an aerogel layer, in which a vacuum is sustained by a vacuum pump operating when it is determined that a pressure within the internal space has risen to a predetermined level. Abstract:

Packages for wireless temperature sensor nodes are described. These wireless temperature sensor nodes are suitable for sensing the temperature of remote objects, such as objects that are difficult to access. These packages are designed to enhance the sensor's ability to sense temperature. For example, these packages may be designed to provide a low thermal resistance path between the object and the temperature sensor, a high thermal resistance between an antenna of the wireless temperature sensor node and the object, and at least in some embodiments, immunity to vibrations. One such package includes means for providing a thermal conductive path from the temperature sensor to a thermally conductive support in contact with the object (for example with a thermal resistance less than 10 K/W), and means for thermally conductively decoupling the circuit board from the thermally conductive support (for example by at least 100 K/W).
