Abstract:

The present invention comprises a polymeric binder for water-resistant ink jet inks, wherein the binder has an acid component in the range from about 1 to about 10 wt. % of the polymer, a glass transition temperature in the range from about -20Â C. to about 25Â C. , and an average particle diameter in the range from about 250 to about 400 nm and a particle size distribution such that essentially all the particles have a diameter in the range from 130 to 450 nm. The binder comprises monomers selected from the group consisting of acrylates, methacrylates, styrene, substituted styrene, fluoromethacrylates, vinyl acrylates, vinyl acetates, acrylamides, substituted acrylamides, methacrylamides, substituted methacrylamides, or combinations thereof.

Abstract:

A method of prevention or treatment of a cholesterol-associated tumor is provided which comprises administering a therapeutically effective amount of an azetidinone-based cholesterol absorption inhibitor, preferably ezetimibe (SCH 58235) and/or its phenolic glucuronide, or at least one ezetimibe analog, e. g. , SCH 48461 and SCH 58053, to a patient wherein the patient is either at risk of developing a cholesterol-associated tumor or already exhibits a cholesterol-associated tumor. Formulations of ezetimibe are also provided for the prevention or treatment of a cholesterol-associated tumor further comprising at least one other anticancer agent. An article of manufacture is also provided which comprises a container, instructions, and a composition, wherein the composition comprises a therapeutically effective amount of an azetidinone-based cholesterol absorption inhibitor, preferably ezetimibe or its phenolic glucuronide, and the instructions are for the administration of the composition for the prevention or treatment of a cholesterol-associated tumor.

Abstract:

A method for producing polysuccinimide is provided. Thermal polymerization of maleamic acid at a temperature of from about 160. degree. C. to about 330. degree. C. produces polysuccinimide. The reaction is optionally conducted in the presence of one or more processing aids, solvents or diluents. The polysuccinimide is particularly useful as a detergent additive.
