He said the chase, at speeds of more than 75 mph, began when Officer Michael Giardina spotted the car and tried to stop it. The stolen Grand Prix rammed a police car during the chase, and continued onto Interstate 10, where Giardina forced a spin-out by nudging the stolen car with his own.
