Abstract:

Audio data in a first format may be processed to produce audio data in a second format, which may be a reduced or simplified version of the first format. A loudness correction process may produce loudness-corrected audio data in the second format. A first power of the audio data in the second format and a second power of the loudness-corrected audio data in the second format may be determined. A second-format loudness correction factor for the audio data in the second format may be based, at least in part, on a power ratio between the first power and the second power. A first-format loudness correction factor for the audio data in the first format may be based, at least in part, on the power ratio and a power relationship between the audio data in the first format and the audio data in the second format.

In one embodiment, a power apparatus, includes at least one first and second power supply to receive power from a main power supply, the at least one first power supply including at least one first input capacitor to smooth voltage ripples, a voltage monitor to monitor voltage provided by the main power supply, and cause enablement and/or disablement of at least one part of the at least one first power supply according to the voltage provided by the main power supply, and at least one first blocking and passing component configured to selectively channel energy from the main power supply to charge the at least one first input capacitor during a time when the at least one part is enabled, and channel energy from the at least one first input capacitor to the at least one second power supply during a time when the at least one part is disabled.

Abstract:

In one embodiment, a power apparatus includes a buck converter including a first capacitor, a first inductor and a first switch for connection with a direct current power supply, wherein when the first switch is closed and the buck converter is connected to the direct current power supply, the first capacitor and the first inductor are connected in series to the direct current power supply, a full-bridge inverter including at least four switches including the first switch, a second, third and fourth switch so that the first switch is shared by the inventor and buck converter, the inverter being operative to convert direct current to alternating current by alternating (a) closing the first and fourth switch with the second and third switch open, and (b) closing the second and third switch with the first and fourth switch open, and a transformer to step down an output of the inverter.

Abstract:

In one embodiment, a hot swap circuit is disclosed. The hot swap circuit includes a capacitor in parallel with an input line to a power system. The hot swap circuit also includes a switch in parallel with the input line to the power system and coupled to the capacitor. The hot swap circuit further includes circuitry configured to pre-charge the capacitor to a first voltage while the switch is open. The switch is operable to cause the capacitor to be charged from the first voltage to a second voltage when the switch is closed.

Abstract:

Methods for generating or decoding an encoded audio bitstream including audio data and supplementary data (e.g., metadata and/or unrelated audio data), where at least some of the supplementary data is included as LSBs of audio segments, and/or at least some of the supplementary data is included in guard bands. Typical embodiments provide a scalable and video synchronous format compatible with real-time and file-based infrastructure components that support the SMPTE 337 format for carrying data in AES3 serial bitstreams, and/or provide a framework for extending distribution codecs to scale beyond an 8-channel limit to support multiples of 8 channels synchronously across multiple AES3 interfaces. Another aspect is an audio processing unit configured to perform any embodiment of the method or including a buffer memory storing at least one segment of an audio bitstream generated in accordance with any embodiment of the method.
