Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods are provided for facilitating the aligning and balancing of the knee during total knee replacement surgery. A femoral assembly is engaged with a distal femur. The positions of medial and lateral portions of the femoral assembly relative to a stationary portion of the femoral assembly can be separately adjusted to adjust the alignment of the knee. A force sensor will be provided to sense the forces in the medial and lateral portions of the knee, and the medial and lateral portions of the femoral assemblies will be adjusted so that the sensed forces are balanced. The alignment of the knee is visually verified using a knee alignment verification member coupled to the femoral assembly. The knee alignment verification member may emit laser beams along the mechanical axes of the femur and tibia, or the knee alignment verification member may couple to alignment rods aligned along these axes.

Abstract:
A system is provided for positioning a cutting guide on a femur of a knee to make a cut along a distal end of the femur during knee surgery. The system may generally include an adjustable femoral attachment member configured to attach to a cut distal end of the femur, a cutting guide removably attachable to the femoral attachment member and configured to guide a surgical saw to make an additional cut on the distal end of the femur, and a force sensor for positioning between the femoral attachment member and a proximal end of a tibia of the knee. The force sensor may include a medial portion for sensing a medial force in the knee and a lateral portion for sensing a lateral force in the knee.

Abstract:
An oscillator circuit having a coil and capacitor tank circuit, a clamp resistor connected at one end to the coil and a switch coupled to the clamp resistor and coil. The switch is operative to close in response to a first input logic clamp signal and shunt the coil with an impedance that causes the oscillation to stop quickly. In response to removal of the input logic clamp signal the tank circuit starts to oscillate from a known state. Preferably the clamp resistor has a value which equalizes the tank currents for the clamped and peak unclamped states.

Abstract:
A voltage controlled oscillator circuit of a type having a tank circuit for generating oscillations which includes a means for establishing a fixed bias voltage with respect to ground at a bias end of said tank circuit, means for drawing current from an a. c. end of said tank so as to control the tank gain, and an AGC capacitor. A constant current source is coupled to the AGC capacitor for supplying it with a constant charging current. Means are provided for discharging the AGC capacitor at a voltage level determined by a ratio of resistors and a transistor emitter-base ratio.
Zero Phase Startup For A Tank Type Voltage Controlled Oscillator
A self contained circuit to enable a tank type (coil/capacitor) voltage controlled oscillator to start up and free run from a known state. The circuit allows the oscillator to be stopped to within two periods by invoking its only input logic signal and also restarted with no adverse effects on its free running operation. It includes three current mirrors, one which sets the current for the other two mirrors and of the final two, one actively sets a bias on a coil (stops oscillation) while the other makes up for the lack of coil bias by providing an equivalent amount current influx to the oscillator in the free running condition.

Michael Haight, who killed wife Tausha Haight, her mother, 5 kids, vented his anger in note before Utah murder-suicide
The claims in the suicide note left by Michael Haight, 42, stand in stark contrast to conclusions by investigators in the 57-page report that overwhelmingly portray Haight, and not his wife, as controlling and abusive. The report cites the family's communications before the killings and interviews f"This is nonsense and I can't handle it for one more day. We will not be a burden on society. I kept asking for help and you wouldn't listen," Michael Haight, 42, wrote in the note included in the report released by the city of Enoch.People close to the Haights interviewed by investigators whose names were redacted in the report said that Michael Haight had lost his job at Allstate Insurance in nearby Cedar City, Utah and was seeking to start an independent agency.

Utah father took guns from home before killing 7, leaving family 'vulnerable,' relative says
Michael Haight had removed guns from the home that were owned by himself and his wife, Tausha Haight, prior to the shooting deaths. Tausha Haight told her extended family that her husband took the guns from the family's home this week, Haight's sister, Jennie Earl, told the Associated Press.killings have left the southern Utah community of 7,500 residents just north of Cedar City in shock. Some residents and those who knew the Haights say they did not see any red flags during the divorce proceedings and the fact that Michael Haight committed the crimes makes the scenario even more shocking.

Airports announce breast-feeding stations: Are mothers gaining ground?
Nonetheless, studies indicate that the majority of airports still do not have adequate facilities for nursing mothers. A 2014 study by scholars Michael Haight and Joan Ortiz concluded that 8 percent of surveyed airports provided the minimum requirements for a lactation room.
