Abstract:
A sieve module includes an impermeable housing and an adsorptive media bed. The impermeable housing is puncturable at a first puncture location to receive gas from an exterior of the impermeable housing. The impermeable housing is also puncturable at a second puncture location to expel gas to the exterior of the impermeable housing. The adsorptive media bed is disposed within the impermeable housing. The gas flows through the impermeable housing from the first puncture wound to the second puncture location by flowing through the adsorptive media bed.
A filter assembly having a filter media and adapted for use with a tube includes a filter housing adapted to contain the filter media therein. The filter housing includes a first nipple and a second nipple, at least one of which is adapted to engage with the tube. At least one engaging member is adapted to releasably engage with a corresponding engaging member of a manifold via a rotation of the filter housing from about 1 to about 180.

Abstract:
An oxygen delivery system includes first and second sieve beds configured to selectively receive a supply fluid and separate a substantially oxygen-rich fluid therefrom. A patient conduit having a patient outlet is in alternate selective fluid communication with the sieve beds. The system includes a breath-detection device in fluid communication with the patient conduit, configured to calculate a rate of breathing and to trigger, in response to a breath detection, an output of a predetermined volume of the substantially oxygen-rich fluid alternately from a respective one of the sieve beds. The system also includes a device configured to measure the output flow rate at predetermined intervals. The output, having a target flow rate and a flow rate, occurs during a respective dynamically adjusted patient oxygen delivery phase, which is dependent upon the target flow rate, the output flow rate, and/or the breathing rate.

Abstract:
An oxygen concentrator system includes a portable system having a portable oxygen concentrator with a portable compressor. The portable system further includes a power supply, a control system, and a portable oxygen outlet configured to selectively provide a first direct fluid supply. A station is configured to engage the portable system. The station may be selectively controlled by the control system when engaged with the portable system. The station may have a stationary oxygen concentrator that is inoperable for delivering a second direct fluid supply via a stationary oxygen outlet during delivery of the first direct fluid supply via the portable oxygen outlet when the station and portable system are engaged. Further, the portable oxygen concentrator is inoperable for delivering the first direct fluid supply via the portable oxygen outlet during delivery of the second direct fluid supply via the stationary oxygen outlet when the station and portable system are engaged.
Single Manifold Assembly For Oxygen-Generating Systems
A device for generating an oxygen-enriched gas for a user includes a sieve module including a housing having at least one sieve bed operatively disposed therein. The sieve bed(s) include a nitrogen-adsorption material configured to adsorb at least a portion of nitrogen gas from a feed gas introduced thereto, wherein when the nitrogen gas is adsorbed, the oxygen-enriched gas is generated. The generated oxygen-enriched gas includes a substantially higher concentration of oxygen gas than that of the feed gas. The device further includes a single manifold assembly connected to an end of the sieve module. The single manifold assembly includes at least one supply valve and at least one user delivery valve connected thereto. The single manifold assembly further includes a flow path for each of the at least one supply valve and the at least one user delivery valve.

Abstract:
An oxygen generating device includes a housing, an inlet formed in the housing, a compressor, and a sieve module. The device further includes a self-serviceable filter disposed between the compressor and the sieve module. The method for generating an oxygen-enriched gas includes introducing a feed gas into the oxygen generating device via the inlet, compressing the feed gas via the compressor, filtering the compressed feed gas by removing at least one contaminant from the feed gas via the self-serviceable filter, introducing the filtered feed gas into the sieve module, and generating the oxygen-enriched gas from the filtered feed gas.
An apparatus for separating humidity from a pressurized feed gas is provided the apparatus having a housing; an intake path formed at a first end of the housing; a centrifugal device disposed within the housing; a sieve bed disposed within the housing; an outlet path formed at a second end of the housing; a purge path formed below the intake path; and a water sump zone located within the housing below the centrifugal device. The centrifugal device receives the feed gas from the intake path during a charge phase and directs the feed gas in a centrifugal pattern to cause water vapor in the feed gas to condense into water droplets on the inner wall. The water droplets are discharged from the housing through the purge path with an exhaust gas during a purge phase.
