Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for establishing and securing a foundation in a substrate. For example, in one embodiment, a pump conveys a first fluid (e. g. , water) through a pile member to produce an elongate opening in a substrate, which allows the pile member to be advanced into the substrate. After the pile member has been advanced into the elongate opening in the substrate, a second fluid (e. g. , fluidized concrete) is conveyed out of openings on the side (and the bottom) of the pile member to substantially secure the pile member in the elongate opening defined in the substrate.

Abstract:
A system for the determination of pile parameters includes at least one structure for measuring pile data. The structure for measuring pile data is disposed within a measurement range from a pile. A wireless transmitter is communicably connected to the structure for measuring pile data, the wireless transmitter for transmitting the pile data to at least one remotely located receiver. Pile data is preferably encoded in the transmitted data signal. The remotely located receiver is communicably connected to a device for determining at least one pile parameter from the pile measurement data. A method for driving piles includes the steps of wirelessly transmitting pile data to at least one remote receiver, determining at least one pile driving process parameter from the pile data, and driving the pile using the determined pile driving parameter.

Abstract:
A vehicle safety and control system provides early warning and includes a network including a plurality of remotely located modules disposed along a vehicle pathway. Each module is communicably connected to at least one of the other modules. The modules include a measurement system including at least one sensor for obtaining sensor data. The sensor data provides position and velocity data for objects proximate thereto. The modules also include an illuminated display having a plurality of observable distinct states, the observable states including states relating to the sensor data.

Abstract:
According to various embodiments, devices, systems, and methods are provided for controlling a compactive effort delivered to a soil by a compaction unit. A device, according to one embodiment, includes a compaction unit () that delivers a compactive effort to soil, first and second sensing units () that measure the first and second sensing data at a discrete global position at a first and second point in time, respectively, a comparing unit that compares the first and second sensing data, and a control unit () that modifies the compactive effort delivered to the soil by the compaction unit based on the comparison between the first and second sensing data. The discrete global position is in front of the compaction unit in the direction of travel of the compaction unit at the first point in time and is behind the compaction unit at the second point in time.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for dynamically determining a static tip resistance of a dynamically-loaded component having a tip. One example method comprises receiving gauge data from one or more gauges associated with the component proximate the tip. The gauge data may represent measurements related to one or more impacts on the component. The example method may further comprise determining measured data and estimated data corresponding to the one or more impacts on the component based at least in part on the gauge data. Furthermore, the method may comprise performing an inversion to select the estimated data having the least amount of difference in comparison to the measured data. The method may also comprise determining the static tip resistance based at least in part on the selected estimated data.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are provided for detecting subterranean properties associated with a geological domain. One example method may comprise obtaining waveform information corresponding to a geological domain. The method may further comprise performing a global inversion on the waveform information. Furthermore, the method may comprise performing a deterministic inversion on the waveform information. The method may also comprise determining one or more subterranean properties associated with the geological domain based at least in part on the global inversion and the deterministic inversion.
