Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus and method for selecting wide area network resources, such as resources identified by URL values, using a rotary knob for user input. A client device having a display and a rotary knob is used for accessing network resources via a public network using an application program, such as a browser application. Rotation of the knob is detected by the client device, which adjusts the contents of a previewing window according to the rotation of the knob. The previewing window identifies graphics corresponding to predefined network resources and the graphics are output in a preview area of the display on the client device. As the user rotates the knob, the graphics for the network resources in the preview window are scrolled through the preview area of the display under control of the knob. The preview area includes a selection frame for selecting a network resource. When a graphic corresponding to a desired network resource is positioned within the selection frame, then the user depresses the knob, or other selection input device, to select the desired network resource.

Abstract:
A bulkhead for dry isolation of dam gates, the bulkhead comprising a plurty of tubular log members bound together to form a platform assembly adapted to float in a horizontal attitude on a water body surface. Water and air conduits are in communication with one or more of the log members to cause the platform selectively to move between the horizontal attitude and a vertical attitude in the water body, and selectively to reduce and increase buoyancy of the platform. A conduit and valve is disposed in one of the log members for selectively permitting flow of water from the water body through the bulkhead. The invention further comprises a method for isolating a dam gate from an adjacent body of water.

Abstract:
The distributed video communications system includes a plurality of nodes (10). Each of the nodes interfaces with a network that is comprised of a messaging layer (16) and a data transmission layer (14). Data is transmitted from each of the nodes to the data transmission layer in a multicast protocol such that all of the other nodes have access to the information transmitted thereto. Each of the nodes has configuration information stored in a conference configuration block (22) which is received through the messaging layer (16). A conference can be initiated by any of the nodes (10) by transmitting information as to the conferees in a conference to the other of the nodes in the conference. Each of the nodes (10) independently determines from the configuration information associated therewith the manner in which data is to be extracted from the messaging layer (14) and the manner in which it is displayed. The information consists of video and audio information which is compressed and/or decompressed utilizing a wavelet algorithm.
A power supply system for USB Power Delivery includes a current source drive circuit to control a power FET to regulate the supply of power along a power path. The current source drive circuit includes a cascode current source and a cascode protection circuit formed by a source follower and a feedback voltage divider. The source follower can be a transistor with its gate connected to a cascode node between upper- and lower-stage transistors of the cascode current source. The divider node of the voltage divider is connected to the gate of the lower-stage transistor. The current source drive circuit can operate within the gate-source voltage specifications of 30-volt DEPMOS devices, and can provide high output impedance to the gate of power FET and a current limit circuit during current limiting operation, without requiring an extra high-voltage mask during fabrication.

Abstract:
A current-sense ratio calibration system includes a power field effect transistor (FET) integrated circuit (IC) that includes a regulator FET to regulate current through a power path and a sense FET to provide a sense current to a sense path. The regulator FET and sense FET have an intended current-sense ratio. The system calibrates the current-sense ratio by applying proportioned stimulus signals to the power and sense paths, the proportion being the intended current-sense ratio. The calibration circuitry compares a measurement of a sense path circuit parameter made during the stimulus application to a measurement of the parameter made not during the stimulus application to derive an error term used to calibrate for any sources of error in the current-sense ratio.

Abstract:
A power circuit having a reverse voltage recovery boost circuit that speeds up a recovery time of the power circuit after a reverse voltage condition has cleared is provided. The power circuit includes a reverse voltage detector that detects the reverse voltage condition. After the reverse voltage condition clears, the reverse voltage recovery boost circuit transfers a portion of power to one transistor that is stored in another transistor thereby transitioning the one transistor from a non-conductive state to a conductive state, which allows a transfer of power from the input voltage to the output voltage.
