Abstract:

Methods and apparatus for forming two orthogonally polarized beams of light from an unpolarized beam of light using one of at least two different image modes, the forming includes a color filtering process that is based on the image mode being used, and projecting the two orthogonally polarized beams to form an image on a viewing surface. Methods and apparatus for separating an unpolarized light beam into four beams as a function of wavelength and polarization; selectively modulating the four beams respectively using four light valves; and combining the four modulated beams to generate two orthogonally polarized light beams.

Abstract:

A pack has a flexible pouch having a pair of planar sheets. The sheets each have a top, a bottom, and two opposite side edges. The sheets are secured together along their top, bottom, and side edges to form a compartment. A gel is carried in the compartment of the pouch. The gel is capable of being cooled and retaining the lack of heat. A plurality of magnets is carried in the compartment of the pouch. In an embodiment, the magnets are permanent magnets. In an embodiment, the permanent magnets are formed of a rare-earth alloy. In an embodiment, the gel is capable of being heated and retaining the heat. In an embodiment, the gel is capable of being cooled and retaining the lack of heat. In an embodiment the gel is a non-toxic biodegradable gel.

Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with a data view for clinical data are described. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request from a user to view summarized case report form (CRF) data, where the CRF data corresponds to a plurality case report forms (CRFs) stored in one or more normalized transactional tables. A view query is constructed based, at least in part, on the request and executed on one or more denormalized summary tables to construct a view. The denormalized summary tables store selected CRF data from the normalized transactional tables and are updated concurrently with each update to the transactional tables. The method includes rendering the view for display.

Abstract:

A flat rigid rectangular plate has four corners bent down to form rigid V-shaped points to grip on an ice surface. The plate is larger than an adult hand and serves as a hand-held paddle in water. A longer spike or triangular point extends away from the plate at a right angle to the V-shaped points for gripping an ice surface through a snow cover. Abstract:

Foam is sandwiched between baffles and two sheets of low friction enameled aluminum. The aluminum is bent to form waterproof seams between the sheets along the top edge and small runners along the bottom sheet. The body of the sled is shoulder width and narrow in depth to permit easy and rapid manual propulsion over ice and in water. All seams are riveted together, a top edge seam is a waterproof standing seam and the others are silicone treated for waterproofing. Side handles are secured to the body for carrying the sled. A hand-held combination ice grab and water paddle is secured to each side rail for propelling the sled. A front grasping rail is secured by protrusions from the front of the sled for the rescue. A harness cord with a snap hook at both ends is secured to the protrusions for harnessing the victim to the sled if necessary. A long tow line is attached to a rear hook.

Various aspects include a wearable audio device having active noise reduction (ANR), where the ANR device includes: a feedback microphone; an electroacoustic transducer; and a feedback compensator configured to output a noise reduction signal to the electroacoustic transducer in response to a feedback signal from the feedback microphone, wherein the feedback compensator includes a tunable filter that modulates a loop gain in response to an adverse low frequency event being detected in the noise reduction signal outputted from the tunable filter, wherein the tunable filter is configured to maintain a substantially similar loop gain shape near a low frequency cross-over as the low frequency cross-over changes during loop gain modulation.
