Abstract:

A system to configure a conductive pathway and a method of forming a system of configurable conductivity pathways include a photosensitive layer that becomes conductive based on photoexcitation, and a light source layer deposited over the photosensitive layer, the light source layer selectively providing the photoexcitation to the photosensitive layer. The system further includes a controller to control the light source layer, the controller illuminating a portion of the light source layer corresponding with a user input image to photoexcite the photosensitive layer and configure the conductive pathway in the photosensitive layer according to the image.

Abstract:

Described embodiments provide techniques for controlling a phased array system by a control system including one or more distributed control stations. At least one of the control stations displays a control interface having a status window, a beam window, and a scan window. The control system instructs the phased array system to operate in an operating mode selected from among selectable operating modes displayed in the status window. In the beam window, at least one beam is selected from among selectable beams available to track a target. The control system instructs the phased array system to form the selected beam and assigns the formed beam to (i) track a target detected by the phased array system, or (ii) monitor a selected location. The scan window displays (i) targets tracked by the phased array system, and (ii) beams generated by the phased array system.

Described embodiments provide an antenna for transmitting and receiving radio frequency (RF) signals. The antenna includes an antenna element and an antenna feed network coupled to the antenna element. The antenna feed network is disposed on a first side of the antenna element. A cavity structure is disposed around the antenna feed network. The cavity structure includes conductive walls defining an antenna element cavity. The walls have a height defining a depth of the cavity. An intracavity wall is disposed within the cavity between feed lines of the antenna feed network. The intra-cavity wall is provided having dimensions selected to reduce cross-coupling within the cavity.

The system includes a substrate to mechanically support a circuit, and a photosensitive layer disposed on at least a portion of at least one side of the substrate. A method of dynamically routing a transmission line in a photosensitive layer including optically switching elements and a system to dynamically route a transmission line are described. The method includes determining dimensions of the transmission line based on a radio frequency signal for transmission through the transmission line.
