Abstract:
A handheld biopsy device is provided for the collection of soft tissue samples from a surgical patient. In a preferred embodiment, the biopsy device comprises a handpiece, a fluid collection system, and a power transmission source. The handpiece is configured for grasping by a single hand, and being independently manipulatable by hand for movement of the instrument toward and away from the patient. An elongated piercer extends from the distal end of the handpiece. The piercer has a sharpened distal end for entering the tissue and a port located proximal to the sharpened distal end for receiving a portion of tissue mass. An elongated cutter is disposed coaxially relative to a piercer lumen of the piercer. A distal blade of the cutter slides distally past the port of the piercer to severe the tissue portion drawn into the port by vacuum. The cutter is retracted to a most proximal position for removal of the tissue portion from a cutter lumen of the cutter.

Abstract:
A device to encourage hand washing which provides visual feedback to a user who can control a video game, blow bubbles, or view other visual feedback device while washing their hands. The device in one mode features at least one controller configured to operate when wet or continually doused with water while the user is washing their hands. The user may view a video or other means for visual interaction while washing their hands, and control a portion of the display with the controller. A video game or the like may thus be played by washing their hands thereby providing user encouragement to wash their hands. In a hand powered mode of the device, a compressible shell is employed to blow bubbles while squeezed and concurrently washing the user's hands. The controller or the shell may be employed with components providing a dermabrasive action against the palm of the user.

Abstract:
Disclosed is silsesquioxane resin composition that contains a free radical curable functional group that is stabilized with a hydrophilic inhibitor. The hydrophilic inhibitor that has the capability to scavenge free radicals such as ascorbic acid or salicylic acid is used to stabilize the resin. The resins are useful in semiconductor formation such as for anti-reflective coatings, hardmasks or photoresist layers.

A device for advancing thin sheet material such as checks and reading information thereon is disclosed. The device includes first and second paired advancement assemblies for directing the checks through the device. Sensors are positioned between the paired advancement assemblies for magnetically and optically reading information or indicia on the check. Each paired advancement assembly includes a driven roller element driven around respective parallel axes of rotation. The axes are orthogonal to a direction of advancement of the check through the device. Each roller element cooperates with a plurality of balls to engage and advance the check or material located therebetween. The balls are permitted to rotate any direction, and the balls are spring-biased towards the driven roller elements so that the balls may shift towards and away from the driven roller elements, and so that a pressure contact is maintained against the check through the paired advancement assemblies.
