42-year-old Michael Trapp of Gouverneur, New York was flying to a family reunion in Chippewa Falls when his plane went down late Tuesday afternoon. Boaters found him floating late yesterday morning, about a-mile-and-a-half from a shoreline near Michigans Thumb region northeast of Detroit.
Michael Trapp, 42, of Gouverneur, N.Y., was picked up by a fishing boat and taken to Harbor Beach, Mich., a lakeshore town 125 miles northeast of Detroit, Police Chief Sid Schock said. He was being examined at a local hospital, but the U.S. Coast Guard described his condition as good.
