Abstract:

A system and method that allows videoconferencing-formatted data to be viewed with standard media formats for computer systems. A processor interprets the header information contained in a videoconferencing-formatted data stream and reassembles the audio and video data into a standard media format. Although new headers are created, audio and video data are unmodified for the new format.

Abstract:

The present disclosure provides methods of establishing communication between endpoints located in different gatekeeper zones. An electronic message comprising (i) an alias for a first endpoint and (ii) an address of a first gatekeeper associated with the first endpoint is delivered from a first computer associated with the first endpoint to a second computer associated with a second endpoint. Alternatively, the deliverance of the message can occur within the same computer. Upon receiving the message, a second endpoint is instructed to replace its original gatekeeper address with the gatekeeper address listed in the message. Subsequently, the second endpoint uses the alias of the first endpoint to establish communication with the first endpoint.

Abstract:

Systems and methods are disclosed to identify and generate keyword searches in real-time or near real-time for active participants in an on-going Audio, Video and Data Collaboration meeting (also referred to as “Unified Communications and Collaboration” or UCC). In one embodiment, multiple input sources are screened to detect text data and generate search strings from the deciphered keywords. Keywords are deciphered from presentation materials and other forms of data input to a UCC (e.g., documents, video, and audio). Keywords and generated search strings can then be presented to one or more participants for selection (e.g., hyperlink) to retrieve and present supporting material relative to a topic of discussion or point of interest in the UCC. Abstract:

A video system examines the transform domain content of various spatially related blocks in a compressed video bitstream to determine whether predetermined types of similarities exist between multiple blocks. When certain selected similarities are found, the video system spatially combines the blocks in a predetermined manner. In some embodiments, DCT coefficients of a plurality of blocks are averaged to form one averaged block and the averaged block is inverse discrete cosine transformed. The averaged and IDCT transformed block is written to the display at the position of each of the averaged blocks. In some embodiments, a representative block of a plurality of DCT coefficient blocks is selected and inverse discrete cosine transformed. The selected and IDCT transformed block is written to the display at the position of each of the plurality of blocks.

Abstract:

A method for decomposing signals into efficient time-frequency representations for data compression and recognition which uses adaptable wavelet basis functions and concentrates a signal or image's information to a higher degree than methods based on the discrete fourier transform, the discrete cosine transform, the standard wavelet transform and known adaptive transform techniques. The purpose of the present invention is to enable data signals and images to be stored and transmitted very efficiently. The time-frequency plane is broken up into subspaces. The method determines the optimum basis function for each of the subspace regions. Basis functions are chosen such that much of the information in the signal is contained in a small number of coefficients. The resulting coefficients form a set that represents the signal in the most concentrated manner.
