Course Work Training and Additional Work Skills; Competent in classroom course work in the following areas of study: Heavy Equipment Identification, Maintenance, and Safety which included Basic/Advanced Operation Practices, Intro to Hand and Power Trade Tools, Construction & Excavation Trade Math, Communications, Employability and Job Search, Construction Drawings/Prints & Site Plans. Construction Safety, Material Handling, Skills for Crew Leadership, Earth Moving, Finishing & Grading-Parts 1 & 2, Soil Analysis, Motor Grading, Scrapers, and Roller Compacters, Driver Safety Procedures and Operations. Trained on CAT 777 Rock Truck, CAT 336D Excavator, and CAT D8 Bulldozer Simulators for control Familiarizations. During the outdoor course application operated the following pieced of equipment: Construction Tractor, CAT 420E-IT and 420E Backhoes, CAT 906 Loader (with forks/buckets), CAT 305.5 and 315 (with mechanical thumb) Excavators, CAT CTL 279C (Compact Terrain Loader), CAT D4K Dozer, Auto-Level and Precision(TM) Laser Transits. Performed basic operations of empty and loaded dump trucks; drove multiple combination tractor-trailer rigs, through multiple maneuvering and road skills. Introduced to basic rigging and cargo securements. Additional Skills Include: Operating various overhead cranes, skid-steers, warehouse and rough terrain forklifts and driving a yard truck pulling trailers from docks staging them in their designated parking areas.
