Abstract:

Video conference rate matching may be provided. A video conference server may receive video source streams from clients on a video conference. The server may analyze each client's capabilities and choose a video stream to send to each client based on those capabilities. For example, a client capable of encoding and decoding a high definition video stream may provide three source video streams—a high definition stream, a medium resolution stream, and a low resolution stream. The server may send only the low resolution stream to a client with a low amount of available bandwidth. The server may send the medium resolution stream to another client with sufficient bandwidth for the high definition stream, but which lacks the ability to decode the high definition stream.

Abstract:

A digital signal processing apparatus and method for executing a block cipher routine. A method includes configuring a portion of an array of independently reconfigurable processing elements for performing the block cipher routine. The method further includes executing the block cipher routine on data blocks received at the configured portion of the array of processing elements. The non-configured portion of the array can be shut down to conserve power. An apparatus includes a context memory for storing one or more context instructions for performing the block cipher routine. The apparatus further includes an array of independently reconfigurable processing elements, each of which is responsive to a context instruction for being configured to execute a portion of the block cipher routine.

Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to encoding techniques. More specifically, some embodiments relate to encoding techniques for screen data. Intra block copy (IntraBC) using motion compensation within a frame (not between frames) is very useful for encoding data captured from screen. Unfortunately, this tool is not included in most of video coding standards, including the base version of HEVC (i.e., H.265). Various embodiments of the present technology utilize encoding techniques to simulate IntraBC with compliant syntax. For example, embodiments divide a high-resolution frame into smaller areas and then encode these areas independently as if these smaller areas were independent frames.
