A plant variety of the Cactaceae family, called ‘Rita Scott’ having a deep colored bloom characterized as R.H.S 74 A (red-purple group). The new variety has a strong resistance to bud abscission, a strong propensity for buds to mature and flower, an erect growth habit, and an ability to grow well in relatively cold temperatures.
